Community Crime Prevention Information Night - Diggers Rest
If you would like to meet with local police and hear about how police are operating in your area as well as learning about some handy crime prevention tips then please come along and join us.
Neighbourhood Watch will be sharing vital information on the role they can play in local communities as well as signing up any interested persons.
A free sausage sizzle thanks to NHW will be on offer.

As part of the Neighbourhood Policing Framework, Victoria Police is focused on being agile, responsive and visible in addressing the community’s needs. To make sure they target their services to the issues important to the community, they need to hear from you.
Today at 3pm, a State Memorial Service to honour the four Victoria Police officers who lost their lives in the Eastern Freeway tragedy will be held at Marvel Stadium, Docklands.
Please take a moment to honour the memory of Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King, Constable Josh Prestney and Constable Glen Humphris who lost their lives in the Eastern Freeway tragedy.
Great advise from our northern neighbours. Us muggles need to remember that not everyone can read our minds whilst driving 😂🧙♂️

It's been a difficult year for all of us, and tonight is a great opportunity for us to reflect on how we as an individual, a family, or a community can help make our neighborhood a safer and happier place for everyone.

Fire season is here, and one of the biggest threats to our communities are fires started from the irresponsible discarding of cigarette butts!
DON'T THROW BUTTS FROM YOUR CAR!
If you are a smoker, keep a quarter full water bottle in your car and place the used cigarette butts into the bottle, give it a shake, eliminate the risk of fire.
If you see a driver flicking a butt out their window you can report it to the EPA on their web site or via the app. Make sure u take note of as much information as possible for the report, including registration number and the location the butt was discarded. This is a great way to encourage offenders to change their ways.
If you do come across a fire or smoke rising from the ground on the side of the road, call TRIPLE ZERO 000 and ask for FIRE.
