On Tuesday 23rd of June 5 members of the Merbein Fire Brigade along with members of Mildura Fire Brigade and Red Cliffs Fire Brigade completed their Class A Foam course.

Members learnt about the safe practises of using foam on the fire ground, how to use it and the different ways foam can be used.

Foam acts as a blanket, locking in moisture and reducing the risk of fire. It also assists with extinguishing fires quicker and more efficiently and helps prevent re-ignition by thoroughly soaking burning materials. It can also help with making your water last longer too.

🚒 International Firefighter Day – Community Visit 🚒

Merbein CFA were honoured to be invited by our smaller friends at Generations Early Learning Centre to help celebrate International Firefighter Day, alongside FFMV Mildura.

The morning was jam‑packed with hands-on activities including exploring firefighting vehicles, hose drills, and important home fire safety lessons. The children were curious, engaged, and full of great questions!

The hardest part of the day was trying to work out who was more excited to be there – us or the kids!

A big thank you to the wonderful educators and children at Generations Early Learning Centre for the warm invitation, and to our volunteers at Merbein CFA and FFMV Mildura for making the morning such a memorable one. 👏🔥

Happy Good Friday everyone!

Merbein Fire Brigade are out and about this morning around Merbein collecting Donations for the Good Friday Appeal.

All proceeds go directly to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Our collection points are:

Corner of River Avenue
Ranfurly Way
Corner of Channel Road
Main Avenue North Service Station

Please be mindful it is 40km past Emergency Services with flashing red and blue lights.

With Easter just around the corner and Daylight savings it’s the perfect time to check all your smoke alarms around your home.

This should be done regularly to ensure safety in case of a fire in your home.
