We are excited to announce David Proud is joining the Miami Coaching team as Lead Coach-Endurance Swimming. He will work alongside Paul and Laura, coaching gold squad swimmers with a specific focus on 400/800/1500m events in the pool and 5-10km in the open water.

David Proud is a passionate and results-driven high-performance swimming coach with a career spanning the UK and Australia. From his early days coaching junior athletes to his current role as Head Coach at Swimming NSW Southern Performance Centre, David has consistently demonstrated his ability to develop swimmers and build successful programs. His passion for the sport started as a swimmer, where he was an Open Water 5 & 10km specialist representing Great Britain at the 2002 European Championships and also 2003 & 2005 World Championships.

In David's own words, "Miami has always had a great tradition of high-performance endurance swimming. When I arrived in Australia in 2010, it was one of the programs I visited as a young coach to gain experience and I was always impressed with the strong working environment within the program and club. I am excited to be part of the coaching team contributing to the great group of coaches and swimmers already in the program."

David will commence at Miami in July 2025.
