Swan SES Swan SES volunteers respond to Storm, Flood, Search & Rescue and Fire Support events. All of this makes us one busy unit!

As an organisation, the State Emergency Service’s primary function is to:

- Raise, train and equip an effective Volunteer based emergency service;
- Be the ‘hazard management agency’ for flood, cyclone, storm, tsunami and earthquake;
- Support other agencies (police/fire/ambulance) with land search, vehicle rescue, vertical rescue, cliff and cave rescue;
- Act in a support role to other combat ag

encies;
- Support emergency management activities at state, regional and local level;

Some of the duties we may be called to assist with are:
- Building Repair
- Conducting a rescue
- Providing first aid
- Establishing communications
- Evacuation support
…and much more

Swan SES is located in one of the biggest districts in the metro area. Our coverage not only includes the international airport, but stretches from the hills as far as Ballajura, and most suburbs north of Guildford as far as Gin Gin! We are also regularly called to assist other units when they require additional support both locally, and nationally.

Looks like it’s not just the Coldplay concert that's getting wild… 🔥👀

A strong cold front is heading our way from Sunday, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds, but unlike this unfortunate couple, we saw it coming 😉

The South West is expected to bear the brunt of it, but Perth won't be spared, so to avoid any embarrassing moments, make sure you secure loose items, take care on the roads and be sure to watch out for hazards like fallen trees or power lines during and after the storm.

Don't be that guy and let the trampoline (and sparks) fly - stay safe and scandal-free, WA! 😉💙

It’s Thank a First Responder Day… and we’ll go first 💙❤️

Behind every uniform is a person, a family member, a friend, a neighbour who puts their life on the line to keep us safe – today and every day.

We can't thank the first responders across all our services enough for the incredible, selfless and often thankless work they do. From fires to floods, life-threatening incidents and natural disasters, our emergency services personnel face the toughest days with heart, courage and a sense of calm that holds the rest of us together.

Shout out to our emergency services family, Western Australia Police Force and St John WA – you're all legends in our eyes!

Smoke alarm action day is today Sunday, 1st June.

During June, the Western Australian community are urged to test and clean their smoke alarms, check that their smoke alarms are less than 10 years old and replace batteries if needed.
