Following Tropical Cyclone Narelle, Landgate worked closely with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA (DFES) to support emergency response and recovery efforts following flooding across the Gascoyne region and impacts to Carnarvon.

Our team captured aerial imagery of affected areas, helping emergency management better understand the scale and impact of flooding and supporting coordinated recovery efforts across government.

By sharing trusted location data, we’re helping WA respond to severe weather events and prepare for future challenges.

Today we introduce Lead Program Consultants – Rob 👋

Rob is someone who embraces the Landgate value of adapt. Working in an agile environment means priorities can shift quickly, and Rob thrives on flexibility that comes with wearing multiple hats to help deliver outcomes.

For Rob, it’s the sense that Landgate never sits still.
“There’s always something on the horizon — new ideas, new ways of working, and constant focus on improving what we do. That’s what I love about being here.”

Having recently transferred into his role, Rob says everything still feels unique, in the best possible way, as he learns the ropes and discovers how his work contributes to Landgate’s broader objectives.

Aboriginal communities collaborated with researchers Martuwarra Fitzroy River to explore traditional and modern methods of transferring knowledge on country.

They explored reviving Storylines, recording songs and artworks, mobile media, and developing tourism to share cultural knowledge about the river and Country.

This project is one of two featured in Wake Up The Snake – now exhibiting at WA Museum Boola Bardip. https://bit.ly/4pHteSZ

In support of strengthening local communities and environmental awareness, Landgate donated high resolution aerial imagery to the exhibit that has been overlaid with photos, videos, illustrations, notes and stories of their first-hand experiences on the land.

🧡As Harmony Week comes to a close, we’re reminded that inclusion isn’t something we switch on for a week – it’s something we live every day. 🧡

Maneesha, Spatial Consultant – Geospatial, shared what belonging at work means to her.

🗨️ “I truly felt I belonged at work when my team supported me while I was learning something new. It reminded me of the culture I grew up in, where people learn and grow by helping each other.”

Across the week, we’ve heard from Ben, Hannah, Tahira and Maneesha – each offering insight into what inclusion and belonging look like in practice to them.

Together, they highlight that strength comes from different backgrounds, experiences and ways of thinking.

Let’s carry this forward - take the time to listen, stay curious, and create space for everyone to feel seen, heard and valued.

⭐ Hannah is just one of the 65 employees across Landgate who speak a language other than English – in fact, she speaks five. ⭐

In her role as a Strategy Analyst, Hannah’s language skills help her connect with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, build stronger connections and support clear communication across our diverse workforce.

During Harmony Week, Hannah’s story is a great reminder of the value that cultural and linguistic diversity brings to our workplace, helping create a more inclusive workplace.
