On this International Women's Day, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strong and inspiring women in my life, both present and past. These women have paved the way for my daughter to pursue her dreams and ambitions without facing unnecessary barriers.

It's important to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women all around the world on this day. We should also take time to acknowledge the work that still needs to be done to achieve gender equality.

Remember that even small actions can help promote gender equality and empower women. Let's all do our part in creating a more equal and just world for women.

Thank you, and what a great effort today for the Clean Up Australia Day event. We had 30 people participate of all ages, cleaning the streets of Midway and Sorell for a couple of hours. Also thanks to the Midway Point Social Club for joining the Midway Point Neighbourhood House to tidy up the community.
Next one, let’s see if we can double the numbers. 💪🗑️

Was a great night last night at the Sorell Australia Day awards and citizenship ceremony.
We are lucky to have so many amazing people and groups in our community.
Well done to:

Citizen of the year -
Jessica Ffrost Boyd & Craig Boyd.

Joshua Coates & Jordon King.

Community Event of the year.
Midway Point Neighborhood House - Community Garden Twilight Market.

Community Group of the year.
Okines Community House - Bike Shed.

In my eyes, everyone who was nominated is a winner and should be proud of their contribution in making our communities great.
