🌸 Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Today, we celebrate all the incredible mums throughout our community, and the amazing mothers who support what we do every single day ❤️🚒

To the mums who support their families while volunteers respond to emergencies, help behind the scenes, raise future firefighters, and always put others first thank you.

Your strength, care, patience and support help keep our brigade and community strong.

From all of us at Milawa Fire Brigade, we wish you a safe, happy and well deserved Mother’s Day 🌷

Last week Luke joined other CFA members in training for their Breathing Apparatus (BA) Accreditation.

All four members passed, well done to all and will be great to have Luke as another “BA” operator in the Brigade, congrats!

Milawa members attended the dawn ANZAC Day service in Eldorado.
A meaningful moment of reflection to honour the courage, service, and sacrifice of all those who have served our country.

Josh, a Eldorado CFA junior member was honoured to be a flag bearer for the march.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them”

Lest we forget. 🇦🇺

🚒 OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU IN 2026 🚒

Volunteering with Milawa CFA isn’t about giving up your life — it’s about fitting in with it. Families. Work schedules. School runs. Turning up when you can.

Right now, we’re looking for local people who may have some availability during times when it suits you! 😊

We have various roles from firefighter to support members, which means there’s plenty of room for you to give your neighbour a hand or try something new.

You don’t need experience. You don’t need to attend every call. There are operational, support, and training pathways — and ways to share professional skills too.

If you’ve ever thought “I could probably help” — this is your sign. Send us a message or click on the link above. ❤️🚒

Keep you burn-off safe and legal:

Check fire restrictions with your local council and register your burn online at firepermits.vic.gov.au or phone 1800 668 511

Check and monitor weather conditions – particularly wind

To avoid unnecessary calls to emergency services, notify your neighbours beforehand

Leave a three metre fire break, free from flammable materials around the burn

Have sufficient equipment and water to stop the fire spreading
Never leave a burn-off unattended – stay for its entire duration

If your burn-off gets out of control, call ‘000’ immediately
