STATE OF ORIGIN IS ON TONIGHT...
In celebration (hopefully) of a Queensland win tonight, the Year 12 students will be hosting a Team Colours Day tomorrow, Thursday 18th June. Gold coin donation. A BBQ will be held at first break with proceeds going to the Valedictory.

ATHLETICS TRACK CARNIVAL PERMISSIONS DUE...
A reminder to parents and carers of students who have nominated to participate in the Wednesday 24th June Athletics Track events to fill out the QParents permission as soon as possible. Additionally, hard copy paper forms were sent home with all students last week. To date, we have had very few permissions returned - students cannot attend the track events at Centenary Oval without prior parent permission being given.

MORE ATHLETICS INFORMATION...HOW DO I GET IN?
For Parents & Carers wishing to attend our previously advertised Week 9 and Week 10 Athletic events or day; or the Miles State School Week 10 Athletics days on the Miles SHS Bottom Oval, you are asked to access the oval via the double entry gate on Edith Street. All other access will be closed.

Athletics is downloading... Over this week and next week we will be running track and field events which will end with the Track Carnival and Field Carnival next week. Parents and carers are welcome to attend events. Please note that times are an approximation only.

Wednesday 17th - 10:15am - 800m - Miles SHS Bottom Oval
Thursday 18th - 10:15am - 1500m - Miles SHS Bottom Oval
Friday 19th - 1:20pm to 2:55pm - Javelin - Miles SHS Bottom Oval
WEEK 10
Wednesday 24th - 9:30am to 12:30pm - Track Events - Miles Centenary Oval (Rugby League Fields - Centenary Avenue, MILES)
Thursday 25th - 8:30am to 2:30pm - Field Events - Miles SHS Bottom Oval

This week, art students from years 9 to 12 had the rare opportunity of physically holding artworks and artefacts that are normally confined to the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
Two trunks containing unique pieces across a range of creative mediums made their way to Miles State High School on a touring exhibition.
Amy from Dogwood Crossing Miles guided students through an engaging and tactile workshop of exploration and artistic self-reflection.
