VIPER Taskforce and To***co Licensing Victoria (TLV) continue to target organised crime groups profiting from the illicit to***co trade, with 100 stores now closed under new enforcement powers.

Since the powers came into effect on 9 September, investigators have seized more than four million illicit ci******es, 70,000 vapes, 3 tonnes of to***co, and approximately $1M in cash.

So far, VIPER taskforce and TLV have visited stores in Melbourne C*D, Tarneit, Truganina, Deer Park, Hoppers Crossing, Werribee, South Yarra, Prahran, St Kilda, Geelong, Footscray, Frankston, Dandenong, Craigieburn, Broadmeadows, Sunbury, Lalor, Ringwood, Caulfield, Boronia, Lilydale, Moe, Morwell.

The operation remains ongoing with VIPER Taskforce continuing to target illicit to***co stores linked to organised crime, including syndicates with offshore leadership.

Thinking about buying an electric fat bike?

Fat bikes are easy to spot thanks to their extra-wide tyres, but don't assume every electric fat bike is a legal e-bike.

Some models are capable of speeds and power levels that place them in the motorcycle category.

If that's the case, riders need:

✅ Registration
✅ A motorcycle licence or learner permit
✅ To be 18+

Detectives are investigating after a 42-year-old-man was fatally shot at a property in Wollert, around 5:30pm yesterday.

Emergency services located the man deceased on arrival and a crime scene remains in place.

At this early stage of the investigation, police are treating the incident as targeted.

Not all e-scooters are legal to ride in Victoria.

A legal e-scooter must 👇:

- Have a max speed capability of 25 km/h
- Only be ridden by aged 16+ wearing a helmet
- Be ridden at a maximum speed of 20km/h
- Have two wheels, a handlebar and a footboard
- Weigh less than 45 kg.

Detectives from the Clandestine Laboratory Squad have charged five people and located two clandestine laboratory sites as part of an investigation into the alleged manufacturing of illicit drugs.

With assistance from Major Drug Squad and Mill Park Divisional Response Unit, investigators executed search warrants at a property in Bundoora, a hotel room in Mill Park and a storage unit in Croydon on 2 October.

An active clandestine laboratory was located at the Bundoora address, where detectives seized items including 35 litres liquid M**A, two handguns, four imitation longarms, am******on, cannabis, liquid suspected to be methylamphetamine, 1.5 litres of 1,4 Butanediol, clan lab equipment, chemicals and electronic devices.

Three people were arrested at the property.

The popularity of e-scooters and e-bikes is growing. So are the injuries.

Young people from Whittlesea recorded some of Victoria's highest number of hospital-treated e-scooter and e-bike injuries, with 86 presentations to emergency departments.

These injuries can happen in seconds, but their impact can last much longer.

Before they ride, talk to your children about:

🛴 Riding safely
⛑️ Wearing a helmet every ride
👥 Never carrying passengers
📱 Keeping their focus on the road.

Let's make sure the ride home is always a safe one.
