Miners Rest Fire Brigade is a fully Volunteer CFA Station. Providing Fire and Emergency services. Located at 4 Creswick St Miners Rest, Victoria 3352.

Miners Rest Fire Brigade is a Volunteer CFA Station based in the township of Miners Rest, Victoria. Providing Fire and Emergency Services to the Greater Community of Miners Rest. The Brigade welcomes all prospective future members to attend the station on Sunday mornings at 9.30am. Alternatively you can message the page your contact details and we will get in touch with you.

🚒 South Australian Deployment 🚒

On Wednesday February 4, Miners Rest Tanker 1 was deployed on a long haul strike team to the Deep Creek bushfire on SA’s Fleurieu Peninsula as part of Strike Team 1501, alongside other appliances from District 15, and crews from Districts 15,16 & 17.

Two 5 day rotations of 1501 worked alongside crews from the SA CFS and NSW RFS, among others, conducting important blacking out and back burning operations to secure the fire edge, helping result in the fire now being marked as under control.

The first rotation returned by coach on Sunday evening, and the second rotation returned along with the appliances last night.

Once again a massive thanks to our families and workplaces for allowing our members to be away on these deployments and covering for their absences at home.

On return, last night and today, our volunteers and local DMO have washed, restowed and given the vehicles a mechanical check up.

🚒 Operational update 🚒

Like all brigades around the state, we’ve had a busy start to 2026, with multiple strike team deployments to major fires across the state.

We have supplied our tanker, ultralight or crews to fires at:
- Moyreisk (Tanker Strike Team)
- Skipton (Tanker Strike Team x2 & ULT day shift)
- Harcourt (Tanker Strike Team)
- Natimuk (ULT Strike Team- multi day)
- North East Victoria (Crew only)
- Otways Complex (ULT Strike Team- 4x night shift, 3x day shift)
- Lismore (Tanker Strike Team x2)

On top of this already large commitment, our members recommenced training for 2026 last week to keep our skills sharp to help protect our community when you need us most.

During this time, the Miners Rest Fire Brigade would like to thank our families and employers for allowing us to attend these incidents to protect the community, while they’re at home picking up the slack and worrying until we return.

It’s also worth noting, thanks to our local DMO’s, during our deployments, we’ve had a spare tanker in our station to ensure we’ve been able to cover our local community in case of emergency.

There may be blue and red flashing lights, however there is no cause for alarm whilst our members train.

Good Evening Everyone

We want to share a very important message with you all.

Tomorrow Friday 9th Jan is going to be a very bad day for fires in Victoria. All regions surrounding us will see CATASTROPHIC Fire conditions which means if any fires start they will be extremely UNPREDICTABLE and DANGEROUS. We are only 1 number away from moving from EXTREME Fire Danger to CATASTROPHIC 🔥🔥🔥

NOW is the time to enact your fire plan. Leaving early is the only option. It is too late to start preparing your home for bushfires. Please ensure you have downloaded the Vic Emergency App and monitor conditions. Make sure you check multiple information sources for up to date and accurate information. Listen to your local emergency broadcaster for updates. Ensure you have phones charged as you may lose power tomorrow.

Fires will take hold and become out of control very fast and you may not get any messaging to say there is a fire near you. Resources will be stretched which means you may not see a fire truck 🚒 if you call for one.

We cant emphasise enough, tomorrow is VERY SERIOUS. Please tell your family and friends how serious tomorrow will be. Lookout for your neighbours. If you live in a bushfire prone area, please be safe and leave early. Consider going somewhere safer TONIGHT.

Please stay cool and hydrated and look after your family and pets.

We received a call from Santa last night letting us know that he will be visiting Miners Rest on the back of the fire truck Thursday 18th December. Santa's tour of the town will begin at the Miners Rest Tavern at 6pm.
