Planning to burn off? Please make sure you notify the RFS and let your neighbours know beforehand.

Giving a quick heads-up helps avoid unnecessary emergency call-outs and ensures everyone nearby is aware and prepared.

A few minutes of communication can make a big difference—keep it safe, responsible, and community-friendly.

Live Traffic NSW

The Live Traffic NSW app provides real-time updates on road conditions, closures, and traffic incidents across NSW and into the ACT, Qld, SA and Vic. This is especially useful for members who live out of town, helping you stay aware of road closures and access changes before heading into the area.

By creating and saving a trip, you can plan ahead, identify alternative routes, and make informed decisions—supporting safer travel, particularly during incidents or emergencies.

Trim & Cut Felled Trees (TFT) Course Update

One of our brigade members recently completed the Trim & Cut Felled Trees (TFT) course – focusing on safely clearing and moving fallen timber. This training follows the NSW Rural Fire Service Operational Guideline for chainsaw use, covering key skills like tree felling, limbing, pruning, and skirting.

Safety is always our top priority. Before any chainsaw operation, members must:
✔ Be trained and currently competent in the task
✔ Wear full PPE (helmet, eye & hearing protection, boots, chainsaw chaps/trousers)
✔ Have the right tools on hand
✔ Refuel safely in a well-ventilated area
✔ Conduct a risk assessment (planned or dynamic)
✔ Work with a qualified offsider during TFT operations

Dave, who completed the course, shared:
“Course was great – and at the end we cut everything up for firewood. The farmer’s going to split it and donate it to elderly residents.”

Great skills being built and a positive outcome for the community

Thank You, Community

We’re proud to be part of such a supportive and generous community.

From your likes and shares on our posts, to showing up at our open days, and the ongoing encouragement you give our volunteers—it truly means a lot.

We’re also grateful for the strong support we receive from our neighbouring brigades, who always have our backs.

Thank you for standing with and supporting your local brigade—we couldn’t do what we do without you.

Thinking of our Marine Rescue mates—your courage and sacrifice won’t be forgotten. Rest easy.

Thinking of our Marine Rescue mates—your courage and sacrifice won’t be forgotten. Rest easy.

G'day Folks,
Today, we acknowledge the ultimate sacrifice recently made by members of Marine Rescue NSW. Our thoughts are with Marine Rescue Ballina this morning after two of their own were tragically killed last night (Monday) whilst trying to reach a stricken yacht.
We send our love and respect to their families and friends at this time.
Rest Well Mates.
