SUPERKIDS AUSSIE BIRD COUNT

DAY TWO

Thank you to Mr Realf, Mrs Coster, Miss Rachael and Miss Ward, for helping the SUPERKIDS do their second bird count for 2026! We were once again lucky enough to have good weather before the rain set in in the afternoon.

RESULTS are attached.

Today we saw 16 different species of bird and the bird we saw most was once again the Rainbow Lorikeets. We also saw a lot of noisy friar birds - especially down in the silky oak forest area - as well as a lot of wood ducks.

It's still not too late to be involved at home, it's so easy, just download the app, grab a cuppa, find yourself a comfy spot then sit and watch the birds for 20 minutes... absolute bliss!

It's here!!! AUSSIE BIRD COUNT - Day Two!

Each day the SUPERKIDS will be giving you some 'tips' on how to be a good bird watcher, did you see their first tip?

TIP ONE - Being quiet and calm is the BEST way to observe birds. They will be more inclined to hang around if you are sitting or standing quietly and calmly, making no loud noises or fast movements.

So what is today's 'bird watching tip' from the SUPERKIDS? Have a look at what they've got to say below.....

Have fun watching and counting birds today! 😊
