Look out Maranoa - A new council is coming to the region!

Maranoa Regional Council is excited to soon welcome the next generation into the Chambers through the new Maranoa Regional Youth Council!

Providing them with insight into the inner workings of Council, as well as a platform to share their views and aspirations, the Maranoa Regional Youth Council will be open to young people aged between 12-18 years who reside within the Maranoa.

Throughout the initiative, the youth-led leadership and advisory group will receive an abundance of opportunities including:

• sharing ideas, raising issues and contributing to decisions that impact the region,
• developing their leadership skills and connecting with Council, Council’s operational teams and the community,
• making a real difference to the Maranoa.

“We know that young people within our community have so many great ideas, aspirations and contributions to offer and as a Council, we are proud to be able to provide them with a program that will allow them to get involved and have their say,” Portfolio for Youth, Councillor John Birkitt said.

Expressions of interest for the Maranoa Regional Youth Council will open on Monday, 31 August and close on Friday, 16 October.

🌈🌸 A little colour at the pool! 🌸🌈

Our pool gardener has been very busy this morning, creating some beautiful, bright pots of colour around the pool! Thank you Mitchell Mitre 10 for always having such a vibrant collection.

And of course, we refuelled with rainbow ice cream 🌈🍦

Molly also had a very special moment while visiting the Ekka and met Costa Georgiadis Official🌿🌱

He sure made an impression… Molly’s exact words were:

“Costa is for real life!” 😂💚

Safe to say, she was pretty excited! 🌿

It's that time of year! Our famous camp oven dinners are BACK! 🥳

Sunday the 3rd of May we are kicking them off for the season, bookings are ESSENTIAL! 📞

$25 for a 2 course dinner, beef and red wine stew with a delicious apple crumble dessert. Payment must be made at the time of booking 😄

If you're a local and would like to attend - that's fine! But you do need a booking as we cook to our numbers on the night 👍
