A brighter future for Modbury Soccer Club (Jets)!

⚽ Better sports field lighting
⚽ Extension of one pitch to full size

Club official Michael Gallina sums it up well:

"It’s a great step up for us. Having the extra pitch and lighting has increased our playing space and taken pressure off our resources."

Thanks to all involved, including elected members, the club, Council staff and contractors Beltrame Civil.

The $565,000 lighting upgrade was jointly funded by the City of Tea Tree Gully and the SA Government Community Recreation and Sports Facilities Program, while the $850,000 cost to upgrade the pitch was fully funded by Council.

Got a garden gnome in need of some TLC? Join us on the last Wednesday of each month for our Mend-A-Gnome Meetup!

After a quick sand, bubble bath and repaint, one of our recent participants wasted no time getting back out and exploring. He’s already been spotted making the rounds at Harpers Field Community Hub and bringing smiles wherever he goes.

Give a tired garden gnome of yours a fresh new lease on life with the help of our experienced volunteers.

Great things are coming to the Tea Tree Gully Library! From Sunday 24 May, construction will begin on our brand-new Children's Library. 📚🚧

To ensure our youngest visitors don't miss out, we will temporarily relocate the Children's Library collection and programs into our Lounge area, overlooking Civic Park.

It will take a little time for our team to magically transform the space, and we appreciate your patience while works are underway. 🔨

We can't wait to welcome you to enjoy the refreshed and vibrant Children's Library in July! Stay tuned for the official launch date.

A new mural has moved onto the Tea Tree Players Theatre! 🎭

Local artist Nina Barnden co-designed ‘The Curtain Never Closes’ with Council and the Tea Tree Players.

Ms Barnden created the 3.2m x 9m mural by photo reference. She took a picture of a fellow artist modelling with the group’s props onstage, complemented by in-house lighting. The hatbox even includes a nod to the Tea Tree Players, with ‘R. Lamerton’ referring to founder Robert Lamerton. 🎩

“The performance now continues beyond the stage,” Ms Barnden said.

The mural is part of the $9.5 million Tilley Recreation Masterplan Project, to which the the State Government is contributing $6.2 million.

Congratulations to City of Tea Tree Gully volunteer David Adamson for reaching 45 years of service! 🏆🚦

Mr Adamson began volunteering at the Road and Cycle Safety Centre in 1980, shortly after it opened – and he’s been there ever since.

He said the relationships he’s built with both visitors and volunteers has been the ultimate highlight over the years. 🌟

“We've worked together for so long. We sort of automatically work, one does one thing, one does the other. But we support each other in the things that we do,” he said.

“It's the ability, as volunteers, to give something back to the community that we live in, that we love.”

Some other milestones this year include:
🏅40 years of service – Sheila Smith (Dog obedience)
🏅35 years of service – Glen Nalty (Dog obedience)

We sincerely thank all our volunteers for their service. Our City would not be the same without their dedication, skill and care.
