A big thank you to Greater Mogo Fire Recovery who organised volunteers to help me clean up the remains of my shed to help me get a start on rebuilding a desperately needed storage shed & home for my chickens. This all happened a few weeks ago (b4 COVID-19) & although there is a temporary halt to rebuilding, I am very greatful to have had their help, support & company & a clean space to be able to think & conceptualise over this time of pause. Thank you guys for your donating your time to help me. 🧡🧡

Huge Thank you to Rhys Bevan for volunteering his plumbing skills to come help me set up my temporary tanks. Thank you to Rob from Reece Plumbing Taren Point who donated Rhys the fittings he needed to do the job. After the Clyde Mountain Fire took out all the tanks on my property leaving me with no water source, Rhys gave up his paid job in Sydney to travel down to Jeremadra to plumb in my new tank. I can’t thank him & Rob enough for their generosity and support to complete (what seemed to me like a mammoth) task. Their support has meant that I have a temporary water source to draw on & I can now focus on the next stage in this journey, the clean up... & rebuild. You guys have given me a gift so treasured by those of us who live outside the reach of town water & therefore given me my home. 🧡 THANK YOU 🧡

A massive thank you to two young guys from Sydney; Patty & Nick, who gave up a 2 days of work in their landscaping job to volunteer to help out. In 2 days these boys not only smashed out a massive amount of work, their kindness, generosity & keenest to help someone in need renewed our strength to keep moving toward in the long road to recovery. Thanks guys, you will always have a place to stay with us, hope to have you holiday here in better times.

On the 29th December the southern section of the Currowan fire that had crossed the Kings Hwy became known as the Clyde Mt fire.
This fire grew to 99,000 ha and destroyed over 400 homes, countless outbuildings and caused so much grief for all affected.
After 49 days we are relieved to finally be able to declare that the Clyde Mt fire is out. Repeated thermal imaging runs have shown that there are no remaining hot spots that could lead to any further spread of this fire.
We fully appreciate that declaring a fire out doesn’t mean that the ordeal is over. The recovery journey is a challenging pathway that has different twists and turns for all of us, but with patience and compassion we will navigate a way through this over time.

A huge thank you to Samaritins Purse & their volunteers 🇫🇷 They gave me more than just a physical start to this enormous task ahead but a much needed emotional lift! For this I will always be greatful🧡
I was not expecting Samaritins Purse to arrive with volunteer & paid French Fire Fighters who came from France to fight fires to help in my recovery, so a very special thank you to them for coming all the way from France to help us rebuild & recover. ❤️ They worked tirelessly for 2 days, then went on to help out at Mogo Zoo.
