It is with heavy hearts that Springfield Fire Brigade shares the sad news of the passing of our mate, Pat Clarke.

Ex-Captain Pat was a true gentleman, a respected firefighter and a man with an incredible passion for his community. His knowledge, dedication and friendship have left a lasting mark on all of us.

Our thoughts are with Pat’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. We hope they can take comfort in knowing just how much Pat was respected, admired and loved by his brigade family and the wider community.

Pat’s name is proudly carried on Springfield Tanker 2 — and every time that truck rolls out of the station, we’ll know a little piece of you is with us.

With your name proudly on the truck, Pat, we know you’ll always be with us.

Rest easy, mate. You’ve done your bit.

There is a car accident near the proving ground in Monegeetta.
The road is currently closed northbound (5:10pm) with traffic management in place.

Emergency services are on scene, please avoid the area.

There’s a car accident at the corner of Mullaly’s Road and Mt Eliza Road.

Emergency services are on scene and travelling to the event.

Please avoid the area to allow us to work. And be aware of emergency response vehicles travelling to the scene.

This accident has now been cleared.

There is reports of a car accident on the Melbourne-Lancefield Road outside the proving ground.
It’s a very busy time of day so please use extreme caution in the area.
Trucks are currently responding, please remember to give way to emergency vehicles and pass stationary vehicles with their red and blue lights operating at no more than 40 k/h.

Devastating news out of Colorado today with multiple firefighters lives lost and fellow firefighters fighting for their lives.
Our thoughts are with our wider firefighting family at such a horrible time.

Three wildland firefighters died Saturday during their response to a pair of Colorado wildfires, federal agencies announced early Sunday morning.

Local volunteer brigades are set to lose significant contracts which brings in essential income to our local CFA volunteer brigades for new equipment purchases and more critically, new truck purchases.
