12 MONTHS ON A THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY.

What a difference 1 year can make with the efforts of volunteers and corporate support to an ambitious gardening project. The aim was to reinstate our front yard post road works by creating an attractive low maintenance landscape in keeping with the professional image our facility portrays. The photos tell the story and our members are delighted.

Thank you to those who have made this project a success. Please support the businesses that have supported our brigade and in turn, the Montrose

Today we recognise those who's duty it is to run towards danger when others are told to leave.

On International Firefighter Day, we thank our incredible CFA members and all of those who protect communities in times of crisis and every day in between.

Your courage, commitment and care don't go unnoticed.

Montrose residents…

Were you affected by the Montrose Fire?

The CFA, in conjunction with Monash University, is undertaking research into the Montrose Fire and is seeking community members to take part in interviews.

This research focuses on communication before, during, and after the fire — what worked well, what didn’t, and what could be improved moving forward.

If you’re willing to share your experience and help shape future emergency communication, we’d love to hear from you.

What an awesome turn out this morning at the Montrose ANZAC Day service, I heard whispers of record numbers. It was great to see many people from little kids, to our local primary school kids, the Joey's, Cubs and Scouts, members of local community groups, people out on a morning walk, the veterans, the family members, all come together to pay their respects and honour our soldiers and nurses.
Also a shout out to The Little Flower Shoppe for a beautiful wreath, shopping local supports locals.

If you are planning on attending the ANZAC day service tomorrow in Montrose, we just saw some great advise on a local page.
Don't skip breakfast or atleast have some orange juice before coming along and don't forget to wiggle your toes whilst standing for the service. Keep up those blood sugars and keep your circulation moving.

*🚨 Update on planned burn - Mt Dandenong🚨

There is a large column of smoke visible on the mountain. FFMV have around 60 firefighters on the ground monitoring this burn and patrolling the Sheffield Rd area.
We have had multiple calls in relation to 'embers' landing in properties. If you notice burnt material landing on your property please check first whether the material is ash or a glowing ember. If glowing and still visibly burning then please call 000. If it is just ash with no heat then we expect some to fall, thats normal.
FFMV has told us that tonight should be a great view.
FFMV will be onsite throughout the night. There will also be a few more burns starting tomorrow around the area.
