WEX applications are now open for Canberra 2026.

• Applications will close on Monday 20 July 2026.

• WEX are seeking applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in Years 10, 11 and 12 in every state and territory.

• WEX Canberra 2026 will be held from Sunday 13 September to Friday 18 September 2026.

• The WEX program is an opportunity for First Nations students to learn about careers in the Australian Government while benefiting from leadership development and cultural mentoring.

• All accommodation, transport and meals are provided at no cost to students.

We’re excited to announce that ORIC is holding a corporate governance training for Indigenous corporations in Launceston.

To go ahead, we need to reach the minimum number of directors to proceed.

🧠 About the workshop
This two-day interactive workshop will help you build the knowledge and skills you need to be an effective director of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporation.

You’ll explore topics such as:
• corporate governance and the legal environment
• rule books, roles and responsibilities
• members, meetings, and reporting obligations
• decision-making and accountability
• the board’s role in strategy, compliance, performance, and culture

✋ Who can attend?
Open to all directors and aspiring directors of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations under the CATSI Act.
Applications from others (like corporation staff or contact people) may be considered where a director from the same corporation is also attending.
