Charlotte is missing.

The 16-year-old was last seen at 10:10am on Monday 31 August 2026 at a secondary school in Beaumaris.

Charlotte was last seen wearing Grey Track pants, school top and a black jumper/hoodie, blue and grey T-shirt and is described as having pixie cut Red Hair and pink trim glasses.

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged attempted armed robbery in Mentone last night.

It is alleged an altercation occurred after a 30-year-old man was spotted stealing from a charity bin on Florence Street just after 6pm.

A 75-year-old man confronted the 30-year-old who allegedly armed himself with a cricket bat from the bin and assaulted the victim.

It is alleged the 75-year-old man was threatened and demanded to handover his phone by the 30-year-old before Good Samaritans restrained him.

The 75-year-old Mentone man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The 30-year-old Mentone man was arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery, assault and affray.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.

Police are continuing to appeal for information on missing person James.

The 39-year-old was last seen on King Street, Melbourne on Thursday 2 July.

James is described as Caucasian, approximately 178 cm tall, medium / solid build, with short brown hair, facial hair and tattoos.

He was last seen wearing a high vis orange jacket over a dark coloured hooded jumper with white writing, pale jeans and tan work boots.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare due to a medical condition.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Moorabbin Police Station on (03) 9556 6565.

Today, and every day, we remember Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim de Waart-Hottart and the tragedy that occurred in Porepunkah on 26 August 2025.
