Due to the forecast High Fire Danger Rating, all Fire Permits are suspended tomorrow, Sunday 6 September.

🚫 DO NOT LIGHT UP.

If you have a planned burn, please postpone it until the suspension has been lifted and you have confirmed that it is safe and lawful to burn.

🔥 Conditions can change quickly, and a fire that starts small can become difficult to control.

Hi All, Please note any current permits are suspended. It is the permit holders responsibility to check they have not been suspended before they light up 👍

🔥 FIRE PERMITS SUSPENDED – TAMWORTH LGA

Due to elevated fire danger, all fire permits within the Tamworth LGA are suspended from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow night.

Existing permits will automatically return to effect once the suspension is lifted — there is no need to apply for a new permit.

Please take care and stay informed of local fire conditions.

Over the past few days, crews have responded to numerous escaped burns across the state. With elevated fire conditions forecast across the weekend, we are urging residents to take extra care when conducting your burns.

While fire agencies and land managers will be closely monitoring areas where hazard reduction burns have been conducted earlier this week, we are also asking landholders to closely monitor their own burns.

If you are in an area currently within its Bush Fire Danger Period, you must have a permit from your local brigade and notify your neighbours and the RFS at least 24 hours before conducting your burn.

Hi Community, due to current conditions, the permit season has been moved forward to September 1st. If you plan on lighting a fire after this date, please ensure you apply for a permit in advance. Additionally, even with a permit, you must still register your activity via the website.

We’ve noticed a bit of a rise in pile burns lately. Just a friendly reminder that even though you don’t need a fire permit anymore, it’s still important to let the RFS know about your burn. You can do this online at
rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify

If you don’t, you might get a visit from the ‘Big Red Trucks’.
