Hi all welcome to a new year and its proving to be a solid year for us here at AFR.
We have our usual events at Willowbank Raceway as well as the upcoming Powercruise events and some of our firefighters are attending some Supercars events along the way and we have a couple of aircraft events to attend to later on in the year.

Hi All the crew here at AFR had a first event for the company on Saturday we were tasked to provide a rapid rescue response crew at Caboolture Airport for their annual toy run we relied on our aviation firefighters from Amberley to train and supply their expertise.
We had a crew of 2 staged at the club house in the Airconditioning all day. The Caboolture Aeroclub were very accommodating to their needs.
There were no on field incidents but the local Pumper (528a) that attended was called out to a house fire in Woodford.
We saw numerous different types of aircraft arrive and depart the airfield from tiger moths WW2 fighters and Cessna's.
Our crew would like to thank the Caboolture Aeroclub for the opportunity to be involved in such an event.

Good morning AFR Crew as we start the new year, we have been sent the tracks Calanders and boy does it look like a busy year
In saying that we are looking for more firefighters to join the ranks, you have to be a qualified either as a rural firefighter or auxiliary firefighter or be road accident rescue accredited. We do work at Willowbank Raceway, Lakeside Park, Noosa Hill Climb and also Powercruise and sometimes Monster Truck Events.so you have to based in SE QLD

Rural Fire Service (RFS) confirms the death of a volunteer firefighter in the Walgett region.

The RFS volunteer was working on the Hudson Fire in the Walgett region when he was struck by a falling tree.

Fellow RFS members rendered first aid until ambulance crews arrived - the patient was then transported to a Lighting Ridge medical facility where he tragically passed away.

Commissioner Rogers has expressed his sincere sorrow at the passing of a dedicated volunteer who was helping to protect the community.

"This gentleman made the ultimate sacrifice. His tragic and untimely death is a solemn reminder about the dangers faced by our firefighters.”

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and firefighting colleagues at this terrible time. We are offering every assistance to his family and fellow brigade members.”
