💜 It's Wear It Purple Day 💜

Today, we celebrate the courage of LGBTQIA+SB communities and the everyday actions that create safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone. 🫶

This year's theme, Colours of Courage, recognises the many ways LGBTQIA+SB young people, allies and communities show courage, whether that's speaking up, creating change, living authentically or supporting others.

The colours of this year's theme reflect the diversity of identities, experiences and stories within our communities. Together, they remind us that every voice matters, and that inclusion, acceptance and belonging make us stronger.

We love getting to support these incredible young leaders and advocates in our community 💚

On Tuesday our team attended the local NAIDOC Community Day 🖤💛❤️

We had the opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge 50 Years of NAIDOC, while recognising the strength, resilience and rich cultures of our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Also shout out to the Boorun Boys and the Dejeetung Girls for their incredible performances.

Do you have a teen aged 12-17 and are concerned about their mental health?

Partners in Parenting is an evidence-based, online program designed to help parents and carers build skills and confidence in supporting their teenager’s mental health.

More than 5,000 families across Australia and the UK have already benefitted from the program, and researchers at Monash University want to give more families in the community access to the program. To do this, they’re conducting a research trial comparing two different versions of the program. Both versions include the same online program, providing parents with evidence-based parenting strategies. The program is free to join, and parents will receive gift vouchers for each follow-up survey they complete. Learn more about Partners in Parenting and express your interest here: https://p2p.partnersinparenting.com.au

Today marks the start of NAIDOC Week 🖤💛❤️

This year's theme is Fifty Years of Deadly marking a milestone and is a tribute to not just of time passed, but of the momentum still building. It celebrates the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and honours the Elders, artists, leaders and communities who have shaped the journey over the past five decades.

This NAIDOC Week, take the time to learn, listen, celebrate and stand alongside First Nations peoples.
