🚨WANTED ON WARRANTS🚨

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate Shane BROOKS.

The 20-year-old male has five outstanding warrants relating to theft and intentionally damaging property.

BROOKS is known to frequent the Latrobe Valley area.

On Tuesday the 1st of September 2026, police attended a rural property on Pound Creek Road, Pound Creek investigating a report of suspicious vehicles being seen at the address. Police arrived and observed two vehicles, a white Toyota Hilux and a Black BMW SUV. A quick registration check confirmed both vehicles were outstanding as stolen. The vehicles were being driven by males.

The male driver of the Hilux has driven at the Police vehicle deliberately ramming it, resulting in extensive damage to both vehicles. Both stolen vehicles left the scene and were observed driving extremely dangerously and erratically on Bass Highway and through the Wonthaggi CBD before traveling onto Loch-Wonthaggi Road in convoy.

🚔 Both stolen vehicles have now been recovered, with one in the Bass area and the second in Jam Jerrup.

🕵️‍♀️ Detectives from the Bass Coast Criminal Investigation Unit are appealing for any dashcam / CCTV footage, and/or any information relating to the offenders to be reported as soon as possible via Wonthaggi Police Station on 5671-4100.

Morwell Police are appealing for witnesses and possible dashcam footage in relation to a hit-and-run collision which occurred on the Princes Highway, Traralgon on 19/08/2026 at approximately 8:30am. The collision occurred in the westbound lanes, involving a male driver and a vehicle described as a white utility with a silver tray.

Police are seeking any information that may assist our investigation. An anonymous report can be provided via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, Crime Stoppers online reporting or by contacting Senior Constable DOOLEY at Morwell Police on (03) 5131 5000.

On this day, one year ago, two of our colleagues were tragically killed in the line of duty.

Today, and every day, we remember Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim de Waart-Hottart and the tragedy that occurred in Porepunkah on 26 August 2025.

We thank everyone for their support and solidarity on this difficult day.

We will remember them.
