DON'T FORGET 🗓

Just a friendly reminder to those who had booked in to attend the second of our four cultural lunches this coming Tuesday at 11.30am.

This is your chance to taste authentic Rohingya cuisine and know more about the Rohingya culture and engage with members of this ethnic group who have made Latrobe Valley their home.

You may not be familiar with their story. This community lunch is a good opportunity to know them, their journey and their culture through their cuisine. We are so grateful to the members of the Rohingya community for supporting this project and for taking time in cooking and making all food preparations according to their culinary practices.

This project is fully funded and supported through a grant from the Victorian State Government.

🎉 A VERY SPECIAL 60TH BIRTHDAY! 🎂💚

We’re a little late with this post, but this celebration was far too special not to share!

Last Friday, we celebrated the 60th birthday of our wonderful volunteer Frank, and we want to take the opportunity to recognise not only this milestone, but an incredible 16 years of volunteering and giving back to Morwell Neighbourhood House and our community. 💚

Now, anyone who knows Frank knows he doesn’t like a fuss… but after 16 years of volunteering AND turning 60, how could we possibly not make a fuss?! 🎉

For 16 years, Frank has generously given his time, skills, energy and plenty of laughs to the House. He’s one of those people who is always willing to lend a hand, get involved and help wherever he can.

Frank is also a much-loved participant in our Lovable Larrikins men’s group, where friendship, connection and a little healthy competition are all part of the fun.

And when we say competition… we mean competition! 😂 The bocce games between Frank and the other Larrikins can get VERY competitive, so of course his 60th birthday cake had to pay tribute to some of those memorable bocce battles! 🎂🏆

Frank’s story is a wonderful example of what volunteering, community connection and giving back are all about. It’s not simply the hours you give, it’s the friendships you build, the laughs you share, the people you support and the difference you make along the way.

We feel incredibly lucky to have Frank as part of our MNH family, and we loved being able to celebrate this special milestone with him, fuss and all! 💚😂

This amazing group continues to show what being a true community champion is all about, giving back, volunteering, fundraising and supporting organisations that are working every day within our local community.

For Morwell Neighbourhood House, this donation means so much more than just financial support. 💚

It helps us continue providing food relief, meals, essential items and practical support, while also creating opportunities for social connection, inclusion and a place where people can come together and feel supported.

Every dollar helps us reach more people and continue responding to the growing needs within our community.

💚 A HUGE THANK YOU TO DELTA GROUP! 💚

A massive thank you to the fantastic team from Delta Group who joined us last Friday for another big day in our People’s Kitchen! 👏🍲

Together, we prepared an incredible 222 Chicken Casserole meals! 🍗🥕🥔

These nutritious heat-and-eat meals will now be available through our Foodbank, helping support local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across our community.

Our People’s Kitchen is about more than just cooking meals, it’s about people coming together, giving their time and making a real difference. 💚
