Valley On The Telly - Finals 5/6 Sept

Saturday 2.20pm - Mid Gippsland Preliminary Final
Yinnar v Fish Creek (at Foster)

The pair met once in season with a 6 goal final quarter from Yinnar just not quite enough to overturn a 4 goal 3QT deficit, Fish Creek winning 108-103, 16 goals each in dry conditions. Unfortunately for spectators the forecast looks more like Yinnar’s last trip to Foster, where they beat the grand finalists Tigers in a low scoring muddy affair. That game, 42 days ago, was the last match on the oval so the ground should be in solid nick despite overnight rain.

Foster await the winner in the big dance.

Sunday 2.20pm - Gippsland League Semi Final
Wonthaggi v Warragul (at Leongatha)

A pair of interesting matchups between the Power & Gulls. At Wonthaggi in April, Warragul kicked the last 6 goals of the game to steal the victory by 3pts, and in June, the Gulls inaccuracy cost them the home contest, kicking 5.16 to the Power’s winning 10.4.

Their third meeting of 2026 is do or die with the winner to meet the loser of today’s Moe v Leongatha in a preliminary final
