Milestone – 900 Games: Scott Baker

A huge milestone this week, with Scotty Baker running Game 900 for the LVUA. Scott is in his 35th year of service to the panel has ran a whopping 14 Senior Grand Finals on the boundary (9 Gippsland, 5 Mid Gippsland), alongside numerous field grand finals.

Scott was made life member in 2001 and we wish him all the best in this 900th on Saturday at Mid Gippsland League's big clash between Yinnar & Foster.

- Rohan Piechota (GL 16’s - Morwell v Traralgon)

Lachlan Swain made his first start at Gippsland League senior level at Morwell yesterday and didn’t look out of place with a very professional performance. Congratulations Lachie!

In the morning of the same match, we got to debut another Sunday TDJFL umpire into the Gippy League 4ths with Rohan Piechota featuring. Well done Rohan!

Angus, Blair & Hunter got the opportunity to continue progressing at that level across 4ths & 3rds this week and we thank Morwell once again for taking full crews on in the mornings of their matches to enable these opportunities as stepping stones towards seniors football.

With a reduced workload, we only have the 3 senior matches to cover this week and your long weekend viewing sorted as ALL THREE will be live streamed and all 3 have the potential to be thrillers.

The Mid Gippsland League Feature Match of the Long Weekend sees 4th placed Tarwin host Fish Creek (3rd). The Kangaroos (6-1) haven't lost since Rd 1 to unbeaten Foster, whilst the Sharks(4-2) enter winning their last two since their bye and their only losses to date have been by less than 8pts to top 5 opposition.
A cracking day at Tarwin awaits.

(The rest of Mid Gippsland played their Round 8 matches last week and have the long weekend off)

Gippsland League has an enthralling round ahead with match ups seeing 7th travel to 9th and 8th host 10th on Saturday, before Sunday action sees 1st host 2nd, 3rd & 4th clash and 6th visited by 5th.

We will be covering two of those Sunday contests with leaders Moe hosting 2nd placed Warragul in their MND Freeze match in Churchill, and Morwell hosting Traralgon, also separated by just 1 spot on the ladder (6th v 5th).
