🎤 Delve into the landmark anthology, 'Don’t Ask the Trees for their Names', where nine Arab women share their deeply personal journeys of migration to Australia, each reflecting on the legacies of their homelands and the complexities of forging new lives.

Three of these women, Loubna Haikal, Mariam Maatooq and Nouha Francis will be our special guests. They will be in conversation with Jumana Bayeh, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts at Macquarie University.

Today at 12:00pm AEST, children, libraries and schools all across Australia will be reading 'Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller' by Adam Jackson.

We're celebrating all week at our Storytimes. We’ll also sing songs and rhymes!

🖊 With MYAL entries closing Sunday 31 May, this is a friendly reminder to submit your short stories or poetry pieces today!

📖 Students can submit an original story of no more than 1000 words on a theme of their choice, or a piece of original poetry of at least 20 lines. Winners are awarded cash prizes and the opportunity to showcase their work!

Now known to be the creator of the infamous Taronga Zoo ceramic pieces, made from 1947 until the late 1950s, Adams life is explored in Hidden Gems. Don't miss out!
