🚨 Incidence Response - Motor Vehicle Accident, Hume Motorway 🚨
It was an early start to Sunday morning for emergency services across the Southern Highlands, with pagers sounding for our on call firefighters and volunteer emergency service partners at around 4:20am.
Crews responded to reports of a single vehicle motor vehicle accident with a person trapped.
Our Fire and Rescue NSW Moss Vale crew arrived shortly after NSW Police and immediately established fire protection for the scene. Firefighters quickly forced entry to vehicle door to provide access to the patient before assisting our NSW SES volunteers with the specialist rescue operation, providing additional tools and manpower during the extrication.
The patient, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was cared for by NSW Ambulance paramedics, with support from the Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter medical team.
Once the scene had been made safe and all hazards addressed, it was handed over to the NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Police.
The morning wasn’t over just yet. While returning to station along Golden Vale Road, our crew came across a tree blocking the roadway. Firefighters provided scene lighting and assisted the Wingecarribee Shire Council worker clearing the obstruction, helping to safely reopen the road.
👏 A great example of the strength of a true multi agency responses. Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Police, NSW SES, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter, and Wingecarribee Shire Council all working together with one common goal, protecting and keeping our community safe.
Thank you to everyone involved for your professionalism, teamwork and dedication, no matter the time of day.
