Yr 9 and 10 Elective Agriculture students, along with students from Years 11 and 12 Primary Industries, attended an Ag, Vet and Butchery Taster Day at the Australian Ag Centre in Crookwell yesterday.

The day was freezing, but very informative, and the students are to be congratulated on their exemplary behaviour and enthusiastic participation throughout the day.

Laila of Year 12 Visual Arts has chosen to undertake a Collection of Works as her expressive form for her HSC Body of Work and is currently developing her lino printing practice at the Bowral Art Gallery.
We look forward to seeing her work continue to develop as she brings her artistic vision to life.

Zone Athletics Carnival 🏃🏃‍♀️

Today 71 students traveled to Canberra to compete in the Zone Athletics Carnival.

Whilst the weather was a bit chilly, our results were red hot.

With so many stand out performances we can't mention them all, however, the following students did exceptionally well.
Stand out performer of the day was Pearl with 1st place in High Jump, Shot Put, Triple Jump, Long Jump and 2nd in Discus.
Cooper B 1st in 400m, 800m and 1500m.
Ruby H 1st in 400m, 800m, 2nd in High Jump and 200m.
Emiko 1st in 100m and 200m.
Evie B 1st in 1500m, Javelin and 2nd in 400m.
Ruby B 1st in Triple Jump 2nd in Long Jump.
Neveah 1st in 800m, Georgie 1st in 800m, Lucy S 1st in Shot Put, India L 1st in High Jump, Riley H 1st in Long Jump, Will M 1st in High Jump, Blake B 1st in Shot Put.

We also placed 1st in the following relays, U12s girls, U14s girls, U15s girls and U16s girls. 2nd in the U 13s girls.

Congratulations to all the students involved on so many amazing results and fantastic behaviour.

We would like to commend Elizabeth, April, Charlotte, Lyla, Iris, Kiki, Rory and Leo for representing Moss Vale High School at the Selective Schools Deputy Principals’ Conference held at Peppers Craigieburn this morning.

Elizabeth delivered the Acknowledgement of Country and shared her personal story, while our performers presented the Dharawal Anthem, followed by This Time Tomorrow, Girls and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.

This marks the sixth consecutive year that Moss Vale High School students have been invited to participate in the conference. Their contribution provided a meaningful and uplifting opening for the delegates, continuing a valued tradition of student involvement in this significant event.

Our Year 12 Food Technology students completed a product development practical, creating an original pizza, calzone or pasta dish designed for a cafe.

Their products needed to serve two people, be suitable for takeaway or home delivery, and appeal to a broad target market. We were impressed by the creativity, innovation and practical skills on display!

7 Tec2 Engineering class recently completed their paper roller coasters. Students designed and built a working roller coaster using nothing more than tape, paper templates, glue and scissors.

This was an engaging task which allowed for trial and error, and creativity.

History Mysteries came alive for our Year 9 and 10 Elective History B students during yesterday’s excursion to Sydney!

Students investigated the famous Pyjama Girl case through an interactive reenactment at the Police & Justice Museum before joining Elliot’s fantastic Murders Most Foul walking tour of Surry Hills. Along the way, they uncovered the stories of Sydney’s notorious Razor Gangs and explored the darker side of the city’s history.
A fantastic day of historical inquiry, critical thinking and immersive learning beyond the classroom!

Reminder the Zone Athletics Carnival is Tomorrow.

Students catching the bus need to be at school by 6:20am.
Students travelling with parents need to be at venue at least 40 mins before event.
