They have sold over 100 million records world wide, have 30 top 40 UK singles, 21 top 40 US singles and have received numerous accolades including BRIT Awards, two Grammys, an MTV VMA Award for Lifetime Achievement and a Video Visonary Award at the MTV Europe Music Awards. They received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.

Tune in tomorrow afternoon between 12pm and 3pm as Caitlin presents Spotlight On… Ozzy Osbourne.

Nicknamed “The Prince of Darkness”, the late rock legend was the original frontman of legendary heavy rock band Black Sabbath. Osbourne fronted the band between 1968 to 1979, and rejoined in the 90s. Ozzy would go off on a solo career in the 80s and became one of the pioneers of hard rock dubbed the Godfather of Hard Rock.

He sold over 100 million records worldwide as a member of Black Sabbath and as a solo artist, he also won multiple accolades including a Grammy in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice as a member of Black Sabbath in 2005 and as a solo artist in 2024.
Caitlin will be playing some of the legendary hits of Black Sabbath from “Paranoid”, “NIB, “Iron Man”, “War Pigs” and his solo career from “Crazy Train”, “Mr. Crowley”, “Bark at the Moon”, “No More Tears”, “Mama I’m Coming Home”, “Dreamer” and “Nothing Feels Right”.

52 year old Canadian Morissette, is one of the most prolific singer songwriters of the 1990s. She rose to prominence at the start of the decade, then in 1995 she released her most celebrated album ‘Jagged Little Pill’ which won her 5 Grammy Awards. She has since won numerous other accolades including 7 Grammys, A Brit Award, 14 Juno Awards and nominations at the Golden Globes and Tony Awards. In 2026, she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Caitlin will play many of her greatest hits including “Too Hot”, “Walk Away”, “You Oughta Know”, “Hand in my Pocket”, “Head Over Feet”, “So Pure”, “Hands Clean” and her most iconic song “Ironic”.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1981, legendary thrash metal band Metallica are one of the pioneers of the thrash metal genre alongside Megadeath, Slayer and Anthrax. Metallica have been labeled as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. They are the only band to perform on every single continent as of 2026.

Caitlin will be playing songs for part 1 from the albums ‘Kill Em All’ to ‘Master of Puppets’. Songs include: “Whiplash”, “Seek and Destroy”, “The Four Horseman”, “Jump in the Fire”, “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, “Master of Puppets”, “Orion”, “Harvester of Sorrow”, “Blackened” and the iconic “One”.

Beats & Banter are wrapping up two unforgettable years on air with a special episode packed full of the BEST moments from Alpine FM's live outside broadcast at the Brighter Days Festival 2026; a massive family-friendly music festival raising funds for children’s charities including Debra Australia, Cure EB Foundation and the Cooper Trewin Foundation.

🎵 Join us as we relive the magic from Pioneer Park in Bright, where the festival brought together incredible live music, classic cars and bikes, family fun, fundraising events and an amazing community spirit all for a beautiful cause.

🎸 Mandy & Yo chat with John Nixon from Chocolate Starfish, known for their powerhouse live shows and huge hits like Mountain and also one of the founding forces behind Brighter Days.

🎤 They also caught up with AMAZING Daisy Bateman from Daezy, one of the exciting acts that brought fresh Aussie energy to the festival stage.

While they were there, they experienced wonderful live performances from Aussie music legends Kate Ceberano, Daryl Braithwaite and Chocolate Starfish.

💟 One of the most special parts of the weekend was interviewing the incredible young kids who became the face of Brighter Days and helped fundraise for children battling devastating illnesses. Their community spirit completely stole our hearts.

This episode is funny, emotional, chaotic, loud and full of everything Beats & Banter has been about from day one.
