Last Friday, MECA collaborated with Western Sydney Local Health District, and our valued service partners SSI, MTC, STARTTS, Macquarie College and Sydwest to celebrate Multicultural Health Week and Welcome newly arrived migrant families into our community.

Held at Blacktown Showground, the event was a wonderful opportunity to come together, connect, move, share culture and build friendships. Reminding us that wellbeing is not only about looking after ourselves but also about feeling connected, included and supported.

Our community enjoyed a range of activities focused on improving mental health and wellbeing through physical activity, including:

🌿Mindfulness walking
🧘Yoga activities
⚽️Walking soccer
🪕cultural wellbeing activities

From gentle movement to cultural expression, every activity created an opportunity to connect and feel a little more at home.

🏀 Reminder – Courts & Conversations at MECA Today!

A friendly reminder to our registered participants that Courts & Conversations is on at MECA today, 4:30–6:00 pm.

A great opportunity for young people aged 12–24 to connect, have real conversations, build confidence and leadership skills, and enjoy being together in a safe and welcoming space.

This collaboration with Kids First Australia and Savannah Pride Basketball Club grew through connections fostered by the Safer Communities Network, supported by the Paul Ramsay Foundation. It's a great example of partnerships creating meaningful opportunities for young people.

Happy Father’s Day!

Today, we celebrate the dads, granddads, father figures - and of course, all our wonderful MECA dads, who wear many hats every day.

For the advice you give, the responsibilities you carry, the quiet sacrifices no one sees, the bad dad jokes we all pretend not to enjoy 😄, and most importantly, for simply being there - thank you.

Happy Father’s Day to our MECA family and all the incredible dads in our community!
