Press the test button, check the expiry date, replace batteries if needed, and make sure alarms are installed near sleeping areas. CFA recommends smoke alarms in every bedroom, living area and hallway, with interconnected alarms providing the best protection. (cfa.vic.gov.au)

The members of the Mount Eliza Fire Brigade are getting behind Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme — and now you can too.

Every eligible can, bottle and carton you recycle can help raise funds for our volunteer brigade, supporting the equipment, training and community programs that help keep Mount Eliza safe.

Next time you return your containers, simply scan our donation barcode and nominate the brigade as your chosen charity. It’s an easy way to recycle, reduce waste and give back to your local community at the same time.

A big thank you to the RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) Unit from Edithvale Fire Brigade (CFA), along with the Mobile Command Unit crew, for visiting Mt Eliza Fire Brigade during one of our recent training nights.

Members had the opportunity to see firsthand how drone technology and mobile command capabilities are transforming emergency response operations — from supporting search and rescue missions to providing critical aerial intelligence and on-scene coordination during firefighting operations.

The ability to quickly assess incidents from above while enhancing communication and incident management on the ground helps crews make faster, safer and more informed decisions. A fantastic insight into the future of emergency services and the evolving technology helping keep our communities safe. 🚁🔥

Thanks again to the RPAS and Mobile Command teams for sharing your knowledge, expertise and capabilities with our members.
