๐ฅThe Bushfire Danger Period is just around the corner. From 1 Oct (less than 2 Months away! ๐ฑ Where did this year go?!!!) you will need a permit to burn. Permits are not guaranteed, and with just a couple of volunteer permit officers in our area, may take some time to be approved. Please use the next few weeks wisely! Remember that August and September is traditionally windy here and so not every day will be suitable to burn.
Before you light that pile:
๐ฅ Put in your Notify Me form.
๐ฅ Check the weather forecast before you light that fire.
๐ฅ Let your neighbours know whatโs going on (not just a post to your local Facebook group that they may not see. By all means, Facebook community posts are great for general awareness, but you still need to let your immediate neignbours know directly).
๐ฅ Never leave a fire unattended.
๐ฅ Ensure it is completely, and we mean *completely*, extinguished before leaving the area.
If the conditions aren't arent suitable, please postpone it until conditions improve.
Letโs all do our part to keep our community, our properties and our firefighters safe.
