MEPA is a community organisation working to protect the native forest in the southern D'Aguilar Ranges, around the villages of Mount Nebo and Mount Glorious outside Brisbane. erland, the southern D'Aguilar Ranges, more generally. This rich, highly biodiverse dry eucalypt forest, wet eucalypt forest and adjoining rainforest is within 20 km of the centre of Australia's, and one of the world's, fastest growing cities - Brisbane. MEPA's primary focus is to help maintain the biodiversity of this remarkable area, including the 40,000 hectare D'Aguilar National Park. Our current emphasis is on community education, lobbying of government and other responsible agsencies, and an extensive, well-funded on-ground program to limit and control the spread of invasive plants (and where possible eradicate them).
