🎨 Art in Action at Mullaloo Heights PS! 🎨

Our students have been busy getting creative in the art room!

Rooms 4 and 8 are exploring primary and secondary colours through vibrant collage work, experimenting with how colours combine and contrast to create eye-catching designs. Meanwhile, Rooms 10 and 12 have begun the exciting process of papier-mâché, bringing their wild animal sculptures to life with imagination and flair.

It’s wonderful to see our students developing their creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence through these hands-on projects. We can’t wait to share their finished masterpieces with you soon, watch this space! 🖌️✨

💐 Mother’s Day at Mullaloo Heights 💐

From a Mother’s Day Pamper Party to a beautiful Mother’s Day Morning Tea, this week we were delighted to celebrate the wonderful mother figures in our school community.

On Tuesday afternoon, our Kindy classroom was filled with smiles, laughter, and love as the children warmly welcomed their special guests. They proudly shared songs and movement and loved spoiling their visitors with hand massages, nail painting, cooking, drawing, and creating a special necklace to take home. The pride on their faces as they hosted was truly heart warming to see.

Thank you to all the families who joined us, your presence made these moments so special for our students.

A huge thank you to our incredible P&C 💛 for hosting a lovely Mother’s Day Morning Tea on Thursday. Your time, care, and organisation made the morning such a success. We are also so grateful to everyone who donated food and prizes for the raffle, your generosity truly helped make this special event possible.

A special mention to Beachside Barista, who was onsite keeping everyone caffeinated with that much needed coffee ☕, generously sponsored by Pauline Lyon at Peard Real Estate, and Caitlin Collins, who kindly donated a raffle prize. Your support was so appreciated and added a wonderful touch to the morning.

It was fantastic to see so many members of our school community come together, and we sincerely thank all who contributed to making the day so memorable.

To all the mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and the special women who play such an important role in our children’s lives, we wish you a very happy Mother’s Day this Sunday. 💖

ANZAC Service
On Wednesday, our school community came together to commemorate ANZAC Day through a respectful and moving service led by our Student Leaders. The ceremony featured student ANZAC - inspired poems, reflections on the history and significance of the day, a guest address from Mr Hill (Joondalup RSL), a beautiful performance by our school choir, and the laying of the wreath.

The service concluded with students placing flowers at the flagpole, accompanied by a powerful bagpipe performance by Mr Sinclair. It was a meaningful opportunity to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served, and we thank all who contributed to making the event so special.

Last Friday, our Year 1 and 2 students had a spectacular time participating in the ‘Mullaloo Heights Funfair’ as part of our Talk for Writing unit. The students participated in a range of fun carnival-style games and crafts, putting their creativity and teamwork into action.

It was wonderful to see so many parents involved, helping the students enjoy the games and celebrate their learning. Another big thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make the Funfair such a special experience for our students.

Yesterday, our Year 4 to 6 students took part in our annual Faction Swimming Carnival, and what a fantastic day it was!

From start to finish, the carnival was filled with fun, friendship, teamwork, and of course, beautiful weather to top it all off.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Mrs Thorby for her exceptional organisation and hard work in bringing the day together. We also extend our appreciation to our wonderful teaching staff and parent helpers, whose amazing support ensured every event ran smoothly.

And finally, congratulations to Tern Faction, who proudly claimed this year’s winners shield!
