How good is this!

Just a reminder that we don’t use any single-use items at Bangalow and Byron Farmers Markets. So you can bring your own fancy cup like these or use one provided by the market, then place it in the tubs provided and it will be washed so it’s ready to be used again and again and again!

We're ready🤞

Our Library of STUFF Mullumbimby relocated into this brick building after the 2022 flood.
We love that it's made from and we fitted it out with flood resilient materials!

🧱Brick with metal roller doors.
🗄️Metal cabinets and shelving
🪵Hardwood bookshelf and hutch that survived the last flood.

We set shelf heights so we just needed to squash stuff together and move the stuff on the floor up onto the shelves. A few super heavy items were lifted onto tables. The few mdf shelves that survived as high shelves previously were deliberately set as high shelves in this location.

Thanks to the NSW Government we had solar and a battery installed so we are immune to local power outages.

So far the Brunswick River hasn't breached the banks next to our shed. But if it does we expect we'll be ok and we expect to be open next Thursday as usual.

"Did you know the Library of Stuff in Mullumbimby has camping gear?

Our Library is now a co op so that means our members share the joys of looking after and lending the wide range of items we stock.

1st March Outdoor Working Bee (THIS Sat.) - we'll be looking over our camping gear, making sure it's tip top for Easter camping trips. Intention is to also crack out the picnic blankets and share a morning tea/ play some cards.

Our Games Room team get together on the third Saturday of the month to look after all the existing stuff in their space as well as sort through the constant backlog of donations.
Yesterday they decided to donate some puzzles to our local aged care home and 5 new games were added to our inventory🤩🥰🥳

It gave us the idea to reach out to other local groups/businesses/services (think youth services, neighbourhood centres) to offer to share our stuff with them. Rather than donate we are seeking to trial the monthly rotation of 5-10 games.

It’s one of several missions Spice Palace’s Bex is currently on. The luscious dips, the zingy spice mixes, the salsas and the hummuses have uses well beyond their obvious ones, and Bex’s been encouraging her customers to think a bit laterally.
