Serpentine Jarrahdale CRC The Serpentine Jarrahdale CRC provides a hub for community resources with printing, copying, binding, laminating, computer hire and office space hire.

Community Resource Centre, Community Cafe & Op Shop 💛 Bringing people together ❤️ A proud independent Non-profit community hub offering events, support, workshops & more - Supporting our community every day! TRANSWA Bookings and tickets, Local Fire Wood collection Permits, SJ Number Plates, National Park Passes are just some of the Services we provide. A vast array of tourist information and maps

available plus a Justice of the Peace Wed, Friday 10-12. Regular Workshops, Computer Classes, Social Groups and gatherings held by CRC along with Function Room Hire available all year round. We have a gift shop with a lovely variety of locally made goods and wares available and a hub for local business advertising. Weekly Cafe at the Farmers Market. The CRC has an amazing and friendly group of volunteers with many community group contacts amongst us so why not call in and have a coffee and a friendly chat and find out what you could get involved in.

Our new Mums & Bubs Fitness & Connection program is designed to be gentle, supportive and welcoming, because getting back into exercise after having a baby isn’t just about fitness. It’s about rebuilding confidence, feeling stronger and connecting with people who understand this stage of life. 🌷

💪 WHAT TO EXPECT:
✨ 45-minute guided fitness session with Paige from PD Fitness, a qualified Personal Trainer specialising in women’s health
👶 Bring your baby or toddler along
🤍 A relaxed, friendly and supportive environment

What if our imperfections aren’t something to hide, but something to celebrate? 💛

Join WA Recovery College at the SJCRC for a creative and reflective workshop exploring the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi and the practice of repairing broken objects while highlighting their cracks and imperfections.

🌿 What you’ll discover:
• The philosophy and symbolism behind Kintsugi
• How to embrace imperfection and reconnect with a sense of wholeness
• Fundamental Kintsugi techniques, including mending fractures and applying lacquer
• How the principles of Kintsugi can inspire everyday life

🎨 You’ll also create your own Kintsugi-inspired piece to take home!

Today, we were delighted to welcome our very own SJ Junior Council to the centre! This bright bunch of future leaders came along to discover what happens behind the scenes at their local Community Resource Centre and, more importantly, why community matters. 🫶

They enjoyed a tour of our building, learnt about the many services available to support local people, and discovered the incredible role our volunteers play in making it all happen.

But we didn’t just talk about helping others… we put them straight to work! 💪

The Junior Council got hands-on assembling food hampers using items supplied through the SJCRC WACOSS Food Relief Grant, thinking carefully about:

🛒 What might someone need?
❤️ What essentials are important?
🤝 How can we best support someone who needs a helping hand?

While they were here, they also met some of the wonderful people who make our centre so special, including our amazing Café and Op-Shop volunteers, our Justice of the Peace volunteer, and some very special community groups:

🧵 Mundijong Arts & Crafts
🪡 Wednesday Crisis Care Quilters
🧶 Thursday Busy Hands
🧵 Friday Sewing Group

The Junior Council got to see these groups and their initiatives in action, including the beautiful quilts and handmade items created to support Crisis Care. These groups are such a wonderful example of how a few helping hands can make a BIG difference in our community. 💕

And after all that hard work, it was time for a well-earned yummy morning tea, prepared by our fantastic SJCRC Catering Team!

We currently have 19 food hampers available, containing pantry items for anyone in our community who might need a little extra support. If you or someone you know could use a helping hand, please pop into SJCRC and grab a box.

We loved seeing the Junior Council roll up their sleeves, ask questions, get involved and, most importantly, leave knowing that the work they did today will help someone else. 🥰

A huge THANK YOU to Sandy for bringing her SJ Junior Council along and giving us the opportunity to share what community looks like from the inside.
