We're excited to welcome 13 new nursing and midwifery graduates to Rockingham General Hospital (RGH) through the Transition to Practice Program.

This program supports new graduates as they transition from study.

Over the next 12 months, they will undertake clinical rotations, strengthen their knowledge and skills, and receive ongoing support from our experienced clinical teams.

Last week the Cancer Centre team at Fiona Stanley Hospital marked Daffodil Day, raising awareness of the impact cancer has on individuals, families and communities, with almost 1 in 2 Australians expected to receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a conversation, wore yellow or showed their support.

Together, our staff have helped shine a light on an important cause and raised more than $13,000 to support the work of the Cancer Council 💛

A more calming and welcoming birth environment is now helping families at Rockingham General Hospital (RGH), thanks to the generosity of the Rockingham Rotary Club. 💜

New nature-inspired murals, chosen in collaboration with our midwives and maternity advisory group, have transformed three labour rooms.

Clinical midwifery manager Beth says the calming visual elements can support relaxation during labour, reduce stress, create opportunities for family bonding and contribute to staff wellbeing.

Beth is pictured with fellow RGH midwife Zoe and her son Toby, who was the first baby born since the murals were installed! ☀️
