Murgon Independent Lifestyle Project Inc.

Murgon Independent Lifestyle Project Inc. ACNC & DGR registered. Land location - McMahon Park. from Eleanor Roosevelt.

NFP organisation...raising funds to establish a cluster of units suitable for adults with disabilities in Murgon with support from government grants, SBRC Council, community events and donations. The vision is to also provide a community lifestyle with on-site 24-hour supervision and assistance for those that require it. "Surely, in the light of history, it is more intelligent to hope rather than

to fear, to try rather than not to try. For one thing we know beyond all doubt: Nothing has ever been achieved by the person who says, ‘It can’t be done."

A community‑led plan to support adults with disabilities could turn an underused park and a quiet corner of Murgon into a thriving “village”.

The 2026 Voice of Queenslanders with Disability Survey has been open for just over 2 weeks and is open for another 6 weeks until Friday 17 April 2026.

How the 2026 survey is tracking
Participation in the survey has increased solidly over the past week. We have seen a noticeable increase in participation from family members and carers and an increase in responses from staff working in the disability sector. Thank you to everyone who responded to our call out last week and took the time to share their experiences.

We would welcome more responses from:
- people under 40 and over 60
- First Nations people
- CALD communities, and
- people living in regional and remote areas.

Why your participation matters
The VoQ survey is the only consistent, statewide lived experience survey of people with disability in Queensland. Findings are shared publicly and used by government, service providers and sector leaders to inform decision making and track change over time.

***Please fill in the survey here https://qdn.org.au/voq-2026/

Accessible formats, translations and support to complete the survey are available. If you need help completing it, please contact [email protected] or call QDN on 1300 363 783.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and help shape decisions across Queensland.
