Soroptimist International Murray Bridge Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of members.

Soroptimists work globally to encourage governments and institutions to promote gender equality in economic and political structures and to recognise the importance of women's input into the management of natural resources and the protection of the Earth's environment. They seek recognition of the importance of women's unpaid labour to the social and economic wellbeing of all nations.

CONGRATULATIONS
Ellie Harrison from Unity College is the winner of our 2024 Tertiary Scholarship. Ellie's many accomplishments include Year 12 Student Leader at Unity College. She successfully combined that role with highly motivated academic achievement, receiving Year 12 Subject Awards in Psychology, Nutrition and General English. Ellie has been accepted into Midwifery, and we wish her well for the future!

WINNER
The Soroptimist International of Murray Bridge Tertiary Scholarship for 2023 was won by Rylie Franke from Unity College. He displayed the All-Rounder attributes we look for including strong leadership skills and work ethic. Rylie is the 35th winner of this Scholarship and will be following a family tradition by studying to be a Paramedic. The Scholarship is offered annually to local students who aim to successfully study at Tertiary level.

KEEPING YOUNG PEOPLE SAFE
SIMB is so proud to be a part of the Studio Purpose II housing project, contributing white goods as we did last time. The completion of four new homes in Murray Bridge brings hope for a better future to local youth. Along with Habitat for Humanity, ac.care and the many other groups involved, SIMB President Carol Bath (below) took part in the opening last week. Well done to everyone who contributed!

The Murray Mallee Wig Library is now located at the Square, 2 South Terrace, Murray Bridge. The Wig Library is a community initiative of International Murray Bridge and is for women and men who have lost their hair through illness or treatment. This service is operated by volunteers every Tuesday 1-4pm and every Friday 12-3pm.
