Due to the Wet Weather the Murwillumbah ANZAC March is CANCELLED. The wet weather plan is in effect so the morning service will be held in the Civic Centre. Please assemble at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre at 10.45am for 11am Service.

The Murwillumbah RSL sub- Branch executive committee and members would like to take this opportunity to correct some misinformation that has been shared regarding our fundraising efforts for Remembrance Day.

When the sub- Branch made initial enquiries to set up a fundraising table within the Sunnyside Mall shopping complex in Murwillumbah, a booking invoice was received which showed that a fee was payable. An executive member of the committee made phone contact and explained that the sub-Branch is a non for profit organisation.
An agreement was reached with this new information and the fee was waved without any further fan fare.

We would like to ensure that the Murwillumbah community know that the Murwillumbah RSL sub- Branch did not pay a fee to fundraise at the Sunnyside Mall.

We appreciate the support of our wonderful community and will continue to fundraise for the benefit of The Veterans and their Families.

On this Remembrance Day, we remember those who have fallen, we also celebrate the service animals who stood by their sides, offering comfort, protection, and companionship. We are grateful for their legacy, and our thoughts are with all those who continue to serve. Lest we forget.

Today marks the 107th Anniversary of the end of the First World War. This Remembrance Day we pause to reflect on the sacrifice of those who have suffered or passed in wars, conflicts & peacekeeping operations. We commemorate their courage & sacrifice.

Today's service will be held at the Murwillumbah Services Club Cenotaph with a 10:30am arrival. All are welcome to attend.

Following the service there will be a Veteran's Luncheon at the Club.

Thank you to the Mt Warning Rotary AM Club for decorating our Cenotaph with their beautiful crochet poppies.

Please join us next Tuesday 11th November for our Remembrance Day Service as we honour those who have passed in the line of duty. 🌹

The service will be held at the Murwillumbah Services Memorial Club Cenotaph with a 10:30am arrival.

Following the service there will be a Veteran's Luncheon at the Club.

The luncheon is $15 per head (subsidised by the sub-Branch) with an alternate drop of Baked Barramundi with Chips & Salad and Pork Spare Ribs with Chips & Salad - To be served at 12pm.

Please RSVP for the luncheon with CASH payment by 7th November at Murwillumbah Services Memorial Club Reception.

On Friday 17th October the Murwillumbah RSL sub-Branch will be holding a Pickleball session for DVA Veteran's Health Week for all Veterans & Widows with a White or Gold Card. 🏓

The session will start at 9am at the Murwillumbah Tennis Club. A trainer will be provided & there is also the option to play croquet for those seeking something a little less strenuous.

Partners are welcome to attend. Lunch will be provided.

The Tweed Heads & Coolangatta RSL Sub-Branch and Twin Towns Services Club invite their members and the community to attend a FREE and informative special event hosted by former ABC correspondent Tony Hill.

Tony will recount compelling true stories of the pioneering band of ABC war correspondents and the technicians that supported them. Original radio reports will also be played during the presentation.

Covering frontlines from Tobruk to Greece, Kokoda to the Philippines and side-by-side with Aussie diggers throughout the major Australian campaigns, the ABC war correspondents were the conduit between the battlefields and families and the public back home.
