Today, 3 member from Musk FB ventured to Bendigo for the rally. Our truck remained online and ready in station at Musk.

What a massive turnout for the rally against the Allan Labor Government’s ESVF tax. While new funding always sounds great, the CFA Volunteers Group believes this can happen in a more fair and reasonable manner.

Needs to be known too, this Tax does NOT contribute the governments bit towards VESEP applications, the way we’re funding our 2nd tanker.

🔥 A big nights worth of training complete with our mates from Hepburn Fire Brigade!

We trained for a structure scenario with Breathing Apparatus and water boosting from a hydrant. That was our tankers job, boost water in to Hepburn Tanker 1 then that boasted into Tanker 2 then onto to the “fire.”

All about taking in skills from our winter group exercise a couple of weeks ago at Daylesford College and really honing in those skills.

Big thanks goes to Hepburn for a great night and Trentham Fire Brigade for use of the ultra light tanker

🔥We’ll be honing in our skills with Hepburn FB tonight from 6:30pm around the Hepburn Springs Reserve in Forrest Ave. Lights and Sirens will lot be used unless responding to a real emergency

🚨Today, just after 2pm Musk, as well as Daylesford, Hepburn and Glenlyon Fire Brigades were alerted to a bed fire, Matts Lane, Coomoora.

Upon arrival, the residents had extinguished the spread and flames of the fire, which did stop the fire being anything too serious.

Our job was pretty easy as you can see. 😅
Being first tanker after Daylesford Pumper, we plugged into that appliance to make sure internal crews had ample water supply.

🥶🥶 Brrr, it’s cold out there today

We can’t stress this enough though… drive to the conditions!! I’ve lost count over the last few days driving around in the rain and the fog, of how many driver rely sourly on Daytime Running Light (DRL) or NO lights at all!!

It’s not hard to flick on a light switch in the car so either your lights or fog lights are on, it make you seen in low light conditions. And a little tip for those that say, “my car has DRL’s so it doesn’t worry me”, WRONG! You might be seen at the front but you have no lights on at the back of your vehicle just on DRL mode.

Slow down, put your low beam lights or fog lights on in low light conditions, drive to the conditions. You don’t want to be another stat towards Victoria’s road toll.

🚒 More big news today for Musk Fire Brigade with the 1st General Firefighter Course ever held at Musk FB!!

🔥 We had 4 more members signed off today, well done to Anton, Ash, Jurgen & Lila. Amazing job there guys!!
Also well done goes to Belinda & Niko from Leonards Hill Fire Brigade and Gerard from Glen Park Fire Brigade!!

🙏 A massive thank you goes to our instructors Andy and all the way from Horsham, Emma, for getting these 7 new fully qualified firefighters through today’s course

🙏 Also thanks to our mates at Daylesford Fire Brigade for letting borrow Daylesford Tanker 2 for the day to be stepped up while our truck was offline, always make sure there’s coverage for our area when this happens.

Well done crew!! Musk certainly put on the best weather possible earlier in the day but we got there! 😅
