πŸ’™ Meet the speakers behind our Men's Mental Health Night.

🎀 Joe Williams is a Wiradjuri/Wolgalu man, former NRL player, world champion boxer, author, Adjunct Associate Professor, and founder of The Enemy Within. Behind his sporting success was a lifelong battle with suicidal ideation and Bipolar Disorder. Following a particularly dark time in 2012, Joe dedicated his life to supporting others through mental health challenges, trauma, identity and healing. Through his organisation, he has delivered wellbeing programs to more than 200 communities across Australia and internationally.

πŸ₯Š TC Priestley is a former professional boxer, father of five, and Aboriginal Case Worker who is passionate about creating spaces where men can connect, support one another, and have honest conversations about mental health. Beginning his boxing journey at just 12 years old, TC went on to win multiple State and Australian titles before becoming a two-time Australian Super Featherweight Champion and achieving world ranking status.

Together, Joe and TC will share their lived experiences, explore men's mental health, resilience, identity and connection, and challenge the stigma that too often prevents men from seeking support.

Because strength isn't staying silent. Strength is speaking up.

A huge thank you to Domino’s Muswellbrook, Double Picc and ZEN WELLNESS CENTRE for generously donating prizes for our Biggest Morning Tea! πŸ’›

We are incredibly grateful for the support of local businesses who continue to give back to our community and help make events like this possible. It’s always inspiring to see our community come together to support such an important cause, with every donation helping us raise vital funds for Cancer Council.

Some conversations can change a life. πŸ’™

This Men’s Health Week, join us for a powerful evening of lived experience, resilience, and connection.

Former NRL player and mental health advocate Joe Williams and former professional boxer and Aboriginal Case Worker TC Priestley will share their personal journeys, speaking openly about the challenges they’ve faced, the lessons they’ve learned, and why reaching out for support matters.

Whether you come for yourself, a mate, a family member, or simply to learn more, this is an opportunity to be part of an important conversation about mental health, wellbeing, and the strength found in connection.

🚨 CALLING LOCAL SCHOOLS, BUSINESSES & ORGANISATIONS 🚨

Upper Hunter Community Services is relaunching The Travelling Trolley β€” a community food drive initiative helping stock our emergency relief pantry for local individuals and families doing it tough πŸ’›

What many people don’t realise is that our food pantry receives no dedicated funding. We continue to run it simply because we care deeply about our community and know how many people rely on it during difficult times.

We’re currently looking for local schools, workplaces, businesses, sporting groups, and organisations who would be interested in hosting one of our donation trolleys for a pre-arranged period of time.

We provide:
πŸ›’ The trolley
πŸ“£ Promotional signage/materials
🚚 Drop off and collection

It’s a simple but powerful way to support local people and make a real difference in our community.

And of course β€” community donations are always welcome too! If you’d like to contribute, we are always in need of non-perishable food items and toiletries such as:
πŸ₯« Tinned foods
🍝 Pasta, rice & noodles
πŸ₯£ Breakfast cereal
πŸ₯› Long life milk
🧼 Toiletries & hygiene items
πŸͺ Lunchbox snacks

If your school, workplace, or organisation would like to get involved, please send us a message or contact UHCS on 6542 3555 😊

Together, even small donations can make a big impact. πŸ’š
