Our Shooting Stars are taking the stage! 🌟💃

We’re so excited to see Spiral’s Shooting Stars performing at A Fair Day Out alongside a brilliant line-up of local performers and community groups.

Our dancers have been putting in the work, bringing plenty of energy and having a whole lot of fun along the way, and we can’t wait to cheer them on when they hit the stage at 1pm! 🎶✨

A huge shoutout to all of our Shooting Stars. We’re so proud to see you getting out there, doing what you love and sharing it with the community.

🎨 Something very special is coming to Nambour next month!

We’re incredibly excited to announce “Voices in Colour”, an exhibition celebrating the artists of Spiral and showcasing their creativity, talent and unique perspectives.

Across three colourful weeks, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a vibrant collection of original artworks, meet artists in residence and experience the creativity of Spiral in action.

There will also be plenty for families to enjoy, with school holiday workshops running during the final week of the exhibition. More details and bookings will be announced soon!

We loved welcoming students from Currimundi Special School to our All In Music program! 🎶💛

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the music, experiencing the Black Box Theatre and learning more about the opportunities available at Spiral.

🌱 Building skills, confidence and community connections!

Recently, three Spiral participants visited Bloomhill Cancer Care in Buderim to explore volunteering opportunities as part of our “Get Ahead” Job Readiness Workshop.

From gardening and concierge roles to helping in the kitchen and front of house, the group discovered plenty of meaningful ways to gain hands-on experience, develop workplace skills and give back to the local community.

Everyone had a fantastic time and left feeling excited about the opportunities ahead. A big thank you to the team at Bloomhill Cancer Care for welcoming us and showing our participants around!

We currently have two spots available in our “Get Ahead” Job Readiness Workshop. If you or someone you know would like to build confidence, develop practical skills and prepare for employment, get in touch with Spiral to express your interest. 🙌

When Maddy isn’t busy creating her signature artworks, she’s making waves in the pool! 🏊‍♀️🎨

Last week, Maddy competed at the Masters Swimming State Championships in Townsville, bringing home an incredible seven gold medals and being named "Swimmer of the Meet" in the Female Multiclass category. 🥇

Seven gold medals is an extraordinary achievement and such wonderful recognition of Maddy’s talent and determination.

From the art studio to the swimming pool, Maddy continues to amaze us. Congratulations, Maddy! Everyone at Spiral is incredibly proud of you! 🙌

🎨 It’s time to help choose Spiral’s next tote bag design!

Five wonderful pieces of participant art are in the running, and we’d love our community to help choose the winning artwork.

🎨 Artist in Residence at Equity Works

On Tuesday, Spiral artist Colin had the exciting opportunity to take part in the Equity Works Open Studio as Artist in Residence, supported by Spiral Art Facilitator Peta.

Throughout the day, visitors met Colin, watched him create and explored a selection of his paintings and handmade greeting cards, including "Easter Eggs" and "Cherry Still Life".

Colin also began sketching the composition for his newest artwork, "Flowers in Three Bottles", giving visitors a special glimpse into his creative process.

To make the day even more memorable, Colin was interviewed for the Equity Works YouTube News Program, where he spoke about his passion for art and his experience as an artist.

A big thank you to Equity Works for providing Colin with this wonderful opportunity to showcase his work, connect with the community and continue developing his artistic practice.

Congratulations, Colin. We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see "Flowers in Three Bottles" come to life! 🌼

Expressions of Interest Now Open 🧵✨

Create, connect and build new skills through Spiral’s inclusive Sewing & Upcycling Program.

Participants will learn practical sewing techniques, transform recycled textiles into a project of their own, and build confidence and independence in a welcoming, supportive environment.

The program will also include the opportunity to work alongside TAFE Fashion students on an exciting collaborative Runway Project, where participants can help create and showcase their designs.

Activities will be tailored to each person’s abilities and support needs, so everyone has the opportunity to learn, contribute and enjoy the creative process.
