Morning folks, RFS crews made good progress on the Bagawa fire yesterday, with significant backburning on the eastern side near Ellems Quarry Road. Volunteers will be present again today, tying in the few last pieces of the control lines to get the fire in the box. The weather is good again, and hopefully everything will be tidied up by the weekend. Huge thanks to the property owners for their assistance. Thanks, Dee Jaynes, for the photo.

Morning folks, Coffs Coast Team volunteers are on the ground now at the Bagawa fire, burning to the west of Nana Glen. The fire is being managed by a very capable Clarence Valley incident controller, and our volunteers today will work to establish containment lines along the eastern edge of the fire in the Ellems Quarry Road area. Conditions are good. Locals may see significant smoke from the fire today and into Wednesday night (15/4) as backburning is carried out.

Hello folks, today is going to be a hot one, with temperatures predicted in the high 30s. Stay cool & drink plenty of water, check on your neighbours & leave water out for pets & wildlife. Don't forget you can get accurate weather information from the RFS weather station behind the fire shed in Nana Glen.

Great to see our Renee Lawlor heading off to assist with the fires in SA, albeit in her Forestry hat. Take care, Renee.

More than 55 NSW personnel made their way to South Australia today to help fight the Deep Creek Fire, south of Adelaide. Among the group are 46 members from the , 10 from Forestry Corporation and one from the NSW SES. These strike teams will provide much-needed rest opportunities for SA Country Fire Service crews, who have now been battling the blaze for five days.

We wish them a safe journey and deployment💛

All permits are suspended from midnight Sunday until Midnight Monday for the Bellingen and Coffs Harbour LGAs.
