As you may have seen, AusPost has received regulator approval for the Basic Postage Rate (BPR) - a stamp - to increase from $1.10 to $1.20 on 3 January 2023 - first price increase since 2019

Remains below the average delivery cost for a letter - was $1.34 in 2019 - $1.20 will still be one of the lowest BPRs in the OECD

● Concession stamps - staying $3 for a sheet of 5 - $0.60 each, and still represent the value of a regular stamp (if you have a concession card bring it in to register - entitles you to 10 sheets every 12 months)

● 'Card Only' Christmas/Seasonal stamps are staying at $0.65/ea

● Available for purchase mid-to-late December - $1.10 can still be used after this date, just add a 10c stamp

Had to delete the post detailing the gauntlet of delays we're facing - apparently was for "internal use only" 😬🙄

TL;DR: Get what you can sent Express Post (or StarTrack) to lessen impact of delays

As of today (Fri Nov 11), it's taking a week or more for 'Parcel Post' (regular) parcels to get out here from "leaving" Welshpool - the 'cleared processing for transit to next facility in Narembeen (/Hyden etc.)' tracking event is when parcels are through processing at Welshpool and transferred to Toll/their subcontractor for delivery out here

Quite possible they're having issues with capacity constraints on the delivery side as well - our usual early morning delivery truck also delivers to Merredin and other Post Offices before and after here

Express Post will be worth the extra $3-5 at the moment (parcels over 5kg a bit more, esp from over East)
Express is an entirely separate mail-stream to Parcel Post - processed separately and prioritised, so even if it's delayed some, should be considerably less than parcel post

Welshpool/Perth Parcel Facility have started their Xmas casuals early so hopefully this cluster... uh 'fluff' is resolved soon 😩

MAIL RUNS - THURSDAY 18th August

Due to the exceedingly wet weather we've had, road conditions have degraded to the point that Australia Post mail contracts and our contractor, Les Hills, have made the difficult decision to cancel today's run and resume again on Monday when conditions should be improved.
