With a Shire Council committed to halving CO2 emissions by 2030 in line with State Government policy, locally we can shave very large costs off council operations. Community First will strongly advocate for investments in best technology solar energy and battery storage across all Council operations.

We can start now with a policy that commits council’s road vehicles to be transitioned to EVs over the next decade, followed by a transition to hydrogen-powered plant and equipment by 2035.

The election on December 4 is our chance to get Council back in shape by electing councilors who are committed to the community, not their own self-interest.

Ratepayers are looking down the barrel at huge rate rises caused by years of waste and poor efficiency across council operations. In effect, for a decade, your elected council has been divided and largely missing in action.

We will strive for a balanced budget. Focus on budgets generates savings for new community programs. We need transparent budgets that everyone understands, and this has not happened for many years.
