🚨 ‼️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ‼️🚨

We have seen a recent increase in structure fires in our local area. Our crews are ready to respond however we need community assistance to ensure we are responding as safely and as quickly as possible.

It is important to be aware of the following:

🚒 Fire Appliances require 4m of clearance

⛔️ Blocking access delays emergency service response times

You, our community, can assist by:

✔️ In narrow streets park on the same side as other vehicles leaving clear access

✔️ Talk to your neighbours and share this post to bring awareness to the access requirements

✔️ If you have a hydrant at the front of your property please DO NOT park on top of it

✔️ If you have a hydrant at the front of your property please keep it free and clear of bushes, scrubs and debris

✔️ Ensure your street number is clearly visible on your letterbox

A delayed response puts property and lives at risk. Please help us ensure we can support the community during an emergency.

Tuesday night we had a visit from Karen who organises the Mother’s Day Classic at Lysterfield Lake each Mother’s Day. This is a fun run to raise money for breast cancer research. Karen presented us with an appreciation certificate. For the past couple of years we have been at the run supporting our local community.

Last night we had the pleasure of accepting a donation cheque from Dawn and Len on behalf of the Berwick Op Shop.
The Berwick Op Shop has been supporting the Narre Warren North Fire Brigade for the past 23 years. The op shops donations have gone towards building the brigades capability through purchasing equipment the brigade would not normally be able to afford.
We need our community to get behind the Berwick Opportunity Shop and support them so they can continue to support community groups/organizations like us.

🚒 Research has revealed that 53% of children charge their phone or tablet either on their bed or under their pillow. This is can be extremely dangerous.

The heat generated cannot dissipate and the charger will become hotter and hotter.

The likely result is that the pillow/bed will catch fire –placing the child (as well as everyone else in the property) in great danger. 🔥

Think....where do you & your family charge your moblie phone? 👨🏻‍🚒
