Today is World No To***co Day, a time to recognise and support anyone who has quit, is currently trying to quit, or is thinking about taking that first step.

Whether through ci******es or vapes, ni****ne can lead to dependence over time.

Many people think va**ng products are less harmful, but they still deliver ni****ne and can make quitting more difficult without support.

Quitting smoking or va**ng is a journey, and it often takes time. The right support can make a real difference.

As part of our commitment to staff wellbeing, we offer our people access to a free 12‑week course of Ni****ne Replacement Therapy. It's all about helping reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms, making it easier to take the next step.

We’ve started National Reconciliation Week with a meaningful first brushstroke 🎨🖌️

Yesterday marked the start of National Reconciliation Week, a time to deepen our cultural understanding, share stories and reflect on our collective journey toward reconciliation.

As part of the activities being held for National Reconciliation Week, an art workshop was held at Graylands, to bring staff together to explore culture, storytelling and creative expression. Participants created their own artworks while connecting through shared storytelling and learning how cultural knowledge is conveyed through Aboriginal art.

The art class is just one of a range of initiatives we are holding in in line with this year’s theme, ‘All In', encouraging all of us to learn, listen and play a part in bringing reconciliation to life.

With more workshops and activities taking place across our sites and in the community, there are plenty of opportunities for our people to get involved and continue the journey.

National recognition for our Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS) 🏆

Congratulations to our CDS team, who were recently named Team of the Year at the Clinical Documentation Improvement Australia Awards.

The team was recognised for:
• Improving documentation culture that supports safer patient care
• Supporting clinicians through education and collaboration
• Driving timely, high‑quality documentation through proactive reviews

What started at NMHS nearly four years ago is now a CDS model used across WA Health, raising the bar for documentation quality statewide.

A special shout‑out to Denise Lou, Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist, who was also named Rising Star Award recipient. ⭐

A warm welcome to our newest allied health graduates 🎉

Thirteen graduates have recently commenced at Osborne Park Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, joining teams across podiatry, dietetics, psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology.

Over the coming months, they’ll rotate across both sites, building experience across a range of clinical settings and services.

We look forward to supporting their journey as they grow as clinicians and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, collaborative care for our patients and community.

King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) sets national first with global gynaecological oncology accreditation 🏆🏥

We are delighted to announce that KEMH has been awarded Australia’s first hospital accreditation from the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) - an outstanding recognition of the exceptional care provided to women in Western Australia.

This international accreditation confirms that KEMH’s gynaecological oncology service meets the highest standards of excellence, further strengthening its reputation as a leading centre for women’s health both nationally and globally.

Following a rigorous assessment by visiting surgeons from Slovenia and Spain, the assessors described the service as “one of the best” they have ever seen, highlighting the outstanding care and training delivered by the team.

Congratulations to the Gynaecologic Oncology team on this significant achievement and for your expertise and dedication to support patient care.

Joondalup Health Campus expands with 60 new public patient beds 🏥

Joondalup Health Campus has reached a major milestone, with the official opening of two new wards for public patients, marking the completion of the $307.9 million expansion funded by the State and Australian Governments.

The wards were officially opened by the Hon. Meredith Hammat MLA, Minister for Health; the Hon. John Carey MLA, Minister for Health Infrastructure; and Tom French MP, Member for Moore, alongside representatives from North Metropolitan Health Service and Ramsay Health Care.

These new medical and surgical beds will strengthen the hospital's capacity and care provided for residents in Perth's growing northern corridor.

The completed expansion delivers significant improvements across the campus, including increased emergency department capacity, new inpatient beds across medical, surgical, mental health and cardiac services, a new theatre, two interventional catheterisation laboratories, expanded pre- and post-operative facilities, a new discharge lounge, additional parking, and enhanced supporting infrastructure.
