🎉 This is fantastic news for the region! 🎊

NSW Government has allocated over $14 million to kick-start planning and development of the Broadmeadow precinct, including a new entertainment centre, in yesterday’s budget announcement.

Known as Newcastle Arena, the proposed 12,000-seat entertainment and conference centre would be located in the space to the north of McDonald Jones Stadium. Planning for the centre facilities hopes to attract more international entertainment acts and national sporting franchises.

This is one of the first big steps in the transformation of Broadmeadow, which will ultimately become a residential and entertainment precinct that will be home to 40,000 people and 8,000 workers.

🎉 The transformation of Gosford's waterfront is officially underway! 🎉

We welcome the Minns Labor Government's $41M investment to revitalise the waterfront, one of the Central Coast's most stunning natural assets. We're proud to play a leading role in this important project.

With $8.5M already allocated to the waterfront, today’s announcement builds upon our commitment to enhance the site and create community benefits. Here's what's coming:

✅ A new waterfront café
✅ A new 1km pathway through Brisbane Water connecting Point Clare to Gosford
✅ Enhanced public spaces along the waterfront from Grahame Park to the Gosford Scout Hall

This investment is the result of genuine community input: nearly 3,500 submissions helped shape this vision, and it shows. We can't wait to help bring it to life!

Have you spotted the floating barge in Gosford’s Brisbane Water? 💦 We’re planning an improved shared path connection from Point Clare to the Gosford CBD, and investigations are underway to help us understand how this could be achieved.

The barge will spend around 3 weeks testing the seabed, and will not include any permanent construction.

These investigation works are part of the Gosford Waterfront project being delivered by HCCDC on behalf of NSW Government.

An incredible new precinct is coming to the Honeysuckle NSW waterfront, bringing cultural, hospitality and entertainment offerings, along with homes, jobs and tourism!

What this means for you:

🌳 More than 11,000m² of stunning public spaces.

🥗 Ground-level dining and retail experiences - think cafes, cinema, casual and formal dining, a brewery, cultural centre, local grocer and health and wellness businesses.

🏢 New homes and jobs.

🍸 All-day attractions that invite you to stay from your morning coffee all the way through to a late-night meal or movie.

📈 $133 million in ongoing economic benefits for the Hunter Region each year.

🏦 A beautifully restored Wickham School of Arts anchoring a vibrant new Arts Plaza, hotel and conference centre.

🚶‍♀️‍➡️ Wide promenades and carefully designed view corridors so everyone can connect with Newcastle's incredible waterfront.

Following a competitive selection process, Doma Group was selected as the delivery partner to help make this vision a reality.

Stage 1 works are expected to kick off in 2028, with homes and ground floor retail among the first to get underway.
