The Australian Liberal Students’ Federation is pleased to introduce its newly elected Executive following our Annual General Meeting held in Perth, Western Australia - hosted by the UWA Liberal Club

This Executive takes office at a time of renewed energy and ambition for the Federation. Over the coming year, we will focus on expanding our presence across Australian campuses, contesting student elections, and growing the liberal student movement from the ground up.

The ALSF will continue to advocate for academic freedom and be a serious alternative to the hard-left activism that dominates many student unions.

There was strong interest and engagement our stall 💪🏼💪🏼

Many people who weren’t otherwise interested in, or knew much about, politics were stopping by to get more information about us and how we differ from our peers on campus.

Restoring Australia Day Celebrations is just one part of their agenda.

They’re committed to delivering lower rates, better roads and fresh leadership so we can build a better Newcastle.

🇦🇺 WE WILL CELEBRATE AUSTRALIA DAY AGAIN 🇦🇺

Liberals will restore Australia Day citizenship ceremonies and introduce new celebrations, including free entry to the city’s pools and community barbecues if elected in September.

When you speak to new Australians, they tell you just how much that day means to them. We hold multiple citizenship ceremonies throughout the year, Council has completely taken away the option of Australia Day. We will give that option back to new Australians.

Our pledge will go further than restoring citizenship ceremonies. We will introduce further celebrations and reverse the Council’s formal position on celebrating Australia Day.

We’ll follow the lead of other surrounding Councils and introduce free pool entry and community barbecues on Australia Day to encourage all Novocastrians to come together and celebrate our national day. We are a city of patriots, we love our country, and we want to celebrate our national day.

Today we also reiterate our commitment to reverse the Council’s formal position and ensure that the Council has to hold citizenship celebrations on Australia Day rather than any other day.
